  1. There were shuls in Gaza even in 1930s till British kicked them out.
Yah-Ribon-Olam, among other piyutim, was written by Rav Yisrael Najjarah in Gaza (he was from Chalab, but was Marah deAsra in Gaza).

  2. They were kicked out because it was too difficult to offer regular protection once the Arabs were stirred up by zionist youth vs the mufti

    Najjarah was Yemenite

  3. I heard Lubavitch is looking for a shaliach for Gaza

  4. The mufti instigated and had Jews attacked all over Palestine (and what is today Bosnia and Iraq), including making the British ban blowing shofar at the kotel.

Rav Najjarah was from Chalab (though https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israel_ben_Moses_Najara#cite_ref-shapiro_14-0 says from Tzfat and Syria). You are mixing up, since Najjar is now a Yemenite name. Though the Arabs of Aza call Azza "Najjar", a short form of Gerrar from last week's and next week's parsha.
