- Rav Yitzchok Sorotzkin shlita, Rosh Yeshiva of Telz and Lakewood Mesivta, member of the Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah, that the whole idea of going to the Washington Rally is treif like chazer. It's not going to help, it's going to make it worse - and it destroys the entire purpose of why Hashem brought this tzara on klal yisrael. As it's exactly the opposite of what Hashem wants from us. Rachmana Latzlan, the demonstrations are counter-productive, the Arabs, Muslims and non-Jews are going to counter demonstrate, and they have much more people then us, and their malice and cruelty, it's opening up a tremendous sakana gedolah. It's going to antagonize all the colleges, non-Jews, and the Muslims.
These rally's should stop, and we should not go to these places. We do not belong in this places. They can incite the non-Jews around us. Chas v'shalom to think that this is what Hashem wants from us We have to be careful and not go there. It's not our salvation. See the shiur:

  1. Didn't Agudah encourage participation in the Washington rally? That must have been with moetzes approval is Rav Yittzchok arguing with them?
Secondly with all respect and defference to talmidei chachomim why was it ok to vote Avi Schnall into state office and antagonize the friendly neighbors of Lakewood by kicking out a loyal incumbent just for money
is that also not kochi veotzem yadi trying to control our destiny by joining the democrats who hate Hashem and wage war daily against the Torah.
    please just trying to understand

    1. Looks like the deep state is attacking Dr Rich Roberts for sponsoring buses to Washington DC rally after he didn't support Avi Schnall's candidacy and stood up to the mob

  2. Comparing next week rally to the 1943 Rabbis march is absurd on many levels

    1. So many that you can't list any of them.

    2. Mitzad the din of hishtadlus? No, it's precisely the same.

    3. yes, but if you believed that everyone must blindly obey the roshei yeshiva to vote for avi schnall without asking any questions then you also have to believe that you must blindly obey the agudah's moetzes and go to this rally without asking any questions. and if you don't go you are a lot like korach.

  3. Is there a mekor in Shas or Poskim that we don't do hishtadlus and we instead just try to get the zechus of Torah?

    1. I think from a cursory glance his point is that this is not hishtadlus..... But at the very least a waste of time.

    2. Now do a non-cursory glance and see that he makes several points, one of which is that since ain od milvado we shouldn't be doing hishtadlus but only davening, teshuvah etc. It's a pela, and asking for a mekor is exactly right.

  4. There's actually a Mekor in Shas to protesting in the streets...

  5. Imagine what all of these comments would be saying if Rav Sorotzkin had pushed the Washington rally as a chov kadosh. The agenda of the commenters frequenting this blog becomes more apparent every day.

    2. Mostly the same types of people. It's like statistics.

    3. Oh, that famous 'statistics'.

Or, as Churchill is said to have said, "lies, damned lies, and statistics."

  8. I don't understand the proof from Mordechai not to attend the rally. Mordechai asked Esther to intercede with Achsvarosh despite the danger for Esther involved. Mordechai also went and screamed in the streets
Of course we should mainly turn to Hashem but how the way Mordechai acted does not seem negate other histadlus

  11. How come out of a 36 minute drosah with two minutes about the rally and 34 minutes about Teshuva, Tefila etc, everyone seems to only care about those two minutes? Here is the deal. You find me a group in Lakewood that is making an extra seder becuase of this derosha I will bl'n go there instead of the rally.
