  1. Mr Hershkowitz If this is what the Rabonim wanted then we know its a good thing. Avi is out to do only good for our town and including help with tuition etc.
Thrers no reason for you to be nervous. Avi is a very good and kind person and is going out of his way help the Klal.
Im a bit surprised that you Criticized Avi Shnall. There is no person in our town that should have even a half a tzad to Criticize Avi Because hes here to help every person and he has a heart of Gold

  2. Mr. Anon. 3:34, yes, Avi may be a good person but that doesn't address Mr. Herskowitz's very legitimate concerns!

    1. Its true, however all of Mr Hershkowitz concerns are not enough of a reason not to vote for him. Additionally we have rabonim and thats who we listen to.

  3. Hershkowitz has a very good point and I understand why he wanted to run for the township, however Hershel Keeps on saying that the Vaad is made of 2 businessmen. That may be true but the Vaad is most certainly backed by the Gedolim in our town. If Hershkowitz Stands a chance ever to win he needs to sit down with the Choshuve rabonim in Lakewood and speak himself out.

    1. The Vaad is actually in the midst of a very big Machlokes with Yeshiva at this time. They are in a fight over control for Chemed. You didn't hear one word of support for the VAAD from anyone affiliated with Yeshiva. These two businessmen tricked the oilam into doing what is best for themselves and not the klal. Once again

    2. Many of the choshuve rabbonim actually support me and agree with me. They are not happy about the direction our town is going in. Many even told me they voted for me. But they arenscared of the Many powerful people that hold the pursestrings. All these years I was called and told I have their support but they would never put their name on a paper for me out-of fear. Years ago I called Rav Forsheimer about an individual that was bringing danger and filth to our downtown. I asked him if he can tell his Rov to try and influence him to stop doing what he was doing. Rav Forsheimer said he wasn't comfortable getting involved but he agrees with me and he is behind me in what I am trying to accomplish. I told him I dont need him behind me. I need him in front of me. Nobody wants to show support to anyone that will make waves or any real changes. They are afraid who they might upset. But if that person is supported by the people they fear, they will show their support whether they agree or not.

  4. Unfortunately the “gedolim of our town” are persuaded by the vaad and askonim and don’t know and aren’t interested in the behind the scene dirty politics that goes on mr Hershkowitz has valid points that no one on the committee is ready to take on and change perhaps mr Ackerman is the only one who is fair and impartial as for the rest of them… well…
I voted for mr Hershkowitz as he’s sincere and right about the town being ruined by the over building and traffic as a direct result of this
Though I knew he’d lose I still voted for him, call it a protest vote and obviously their are some of us who don’t vote blindly as he did get 2400 votes

  5. Moral of the story - you have to campaign. Posting on blogs (which apparently are echo chambers) and a couple of lawn signs are not going to do it. Granted Schnalls running stole the show, brought out more vaad voters, card voters etc. but like you said the difference was huge which ultimately tells us you need to campaign heavily when you are not a vaad candidate. Last time around you campaigned, you had a slogan HH (High hopes) the issue there was an incumbent and a stronger vaad. I don’t blame you for not willing to spend thousands on a campaign, but that is unfortunately the only way it will happen in this town - a town full of “low information voters” + Vaad
