Facebook Admits "made a mistake” Censoring hydroxychloroquine saves lives.

Facebook just announced it “made a mistake” when it censored studies showing hydroxychloroquine saves lives.

Dr. Simone Gold on Twitter:  Facebook just announced it “made a mistake” when it censored studies showing HCQ saves lives. Censorship is never “a mistake.”  Tech executives repeatedly made a calculated decision, month after month, silencing physicians worldwide.

This comes as news of a study released by Hackensack Meridian Health of NJ Hydroxychloroquine  says that the drug use  shows a lower rate of hospitalization compared to those not treated.

Facebook’s Oversight Board Overturns Some Content Decisions in First Rulings

The post: A user implied that a French agency wasn’t authorizing hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin for the treatment of COVID-19, even though it was “harmless” and could be a cure. The post was originally removed for spreading COVID-19 misinformation that this drug cocktail could cure the virus.

The decision: The board determined that since these drugs require a prescription in France, the misinformation could only cause minimal harm. The board ruled to restore the post and suggested that Facebook should fix how it approaches misinformation, such as correcting it instead of removing it.

JHS: Never Again The Life & Times of Meir Kahane

One of the most complex characters of post war Jewish history was undoubtedly Meir Kahane (1932-1990). Controversial yet lover of the Jewish people, provocative yet charismatic, endorsed violence yet known for his brilliance and sense of humor, yeshiva educated talmid chacham yet trained Jewish militias to patrol the streets of New York, author of endless articles on Jewish activism yet also a sportswriter and Yankees fan. So many facets and even contradictions. His problematic legacy continues to hover over Jewish society till today.
Born into a rabbinic and Zionist family and educated at Mir Brooklyn, he went to a short stint in the rabbinate in Queens

Hakoras Hatov For Trump, The Media Wont Show It

The last act in office, president Trump pardoned and commuted the sentences of 143 individuals among them were members across the spectrum of the frum and Jewish community Chasidish, litvish, MO to sefardi. The frum orthodox community is very thankful for the last 4 years, but you would not see any mention of that in some of the mainstream frum orthodox media. Not only did they not thank and show hakoras hatov for one of the chasidei omos haolam but they attacked him.
Jewish vues weekly
Jewish Vues

A Ami Magazine poll this October found that a whopping 83 percent of Orthodox Jews support and said they will vote for Trump. You would think that the frum news media would at least acknowledge the past 4 years under president Trump. His accomplishments for the country as a whole and in particular for the Jewish community both in the US and Israel. His administration's policies on religious freedom, advancing conservative values, the Iran deal, Yerushalayim embassy, prison reform, Rubashkin, his economic and school choice policies.
It was Just a few months ago 13 prominent Roshei yeshiva and Admorim penned a letter to president Trump expressing heartfelt gratitude for his leadership. They wrote “we feel so grateful that you, Mr. President, are indeed expressing that leadership we need so urgently, standing up for the first amendment rights which is critical to help us weather to  storm of the current pandemic. “You have exemplified that leadership with your commitment to the essential importance of religious entities. You understand Mr. President, that it is our faith in God that will lift us out of this calamity."

The events at the capitol was an opportunity the left and the media used to blame Trump and give him that knockout punch they craved since his ascension to the presidency down the escalator. When it comes to the fake news media we think of it as the secular corrupt mainstream media who are biased, bought off and an extended arm of the DNC. You would not expect the frum news media to act the same to be so out of touch with the readership and the majority of klal yisrael. What happened to the values of hakoras hatov? Moshe rabeinu could not initiate the plague of Blood because the Nile river protected him when he was thrown into it as an infant. That is hakoras hatov.
Unfortunately the charedi American press too jumped on the insurrection bandwagon and instead wrote editorials attacking the outgoing president, trying to distance themselves from him and self apologetic articles for how they covered him over the term of his presidency and for the "hero worship" among frum Jews. In response, some readers have cancelled subscriptions in protest of what these editors did. If it was so hard for them to thank and show gratitude for the frum community, the least they could have done was keep quiet, but for some reason they feel that their objective view is smarter than the 83% who voted for trump.

Make no mistake the frum papers and editors did not suddenly turn on Trump only because of the capitol events, they never liked him but now they had an opportunity to unleash their real views. The people see right through it.

Can more Houses be Built in Lakewood

A article in Mishpacha magazine "Lakewood Housing  Goes through the Roof".The question is asked  "can more houses be built in Lakewood, or will space for more housing eventually run out?

According to Mr. Abe Halberstam, who chairs Lakewood’s Zoning Board, the answer is, “It’s possible.”

“The state mandates that we redo the zoning master plan every ten years, and we just did that in 2017,” he says. “So, it is what it is. It won’t be redone until 2027. And when they do change the master plan, they will take into consideration the natural growth of the community to allow for greater housing,” he added, but cautioned that “everything will be done within reason.”

Asked about the possibility of rezoning specific areas to allow for small apartment buildings, similar to the Prime Apartment building that was built several years ago on Seventh Street and Madison Avenue, Mr. Halberstam said “anything is possible” but noted that very specific circumstances allowed for the zoning adjustments in that case.

Let My People know: Chief justice Roggensack Disagrees with Mishpacha's Gone Missing

History plays tricks on the dead ; at least the living have a shot at the truth. The episode of 2 weeks ago, Washington's unrest is foreign to the Jewish experience but Emes is something the Torah burnishes in our consciousness.

"Gone Missing? states "The courts of law repeatedly ruled that no material evidence was even offered by those questioning the contest".Although it's probably an oversight  this statement is patently incorrect clarity is in order here.

In Madison Wisconsin, when a lawsuit was lost 4-3  the dissenting judges, led by chief justice Patience Roggensack said the court should  have decided whether votes  should have counted in each of the categories challenged and also clarified the law for future elections. "A significant portion of the public does not believe that the Nov. 3 contest was fairly conducted" Roggensack wrote.

"Once again, four justices on this court cannot be bothered with addressing with what the statutes require to assure that absentee ballots are lawfully cast."

He chided the others who saw irregular activity at work and still decided  to bury  their heads in the sand as if nothing was amiss, instead of allowing litigation to go forward.

Justices Alito and Thomas of the supreme court showed interest to hear the case as well but were rebuffed by the others.

After 120 years, The רבש''ע asks a person who sits on a court of law who is in position  to intervene on behalf of another who is being taken advantage of, why he stood on the sidelines.- This is called עוות הדין.

What about all the sworn affidavits of live testimony witnessed  by the postal truck driver who realized he had delivered 180,000 bogus voter forms interstate- plus so many others who retold how they saw inequity in real time. Isn't  עדות heard first hand the best evidence there is? Much of modern day American law is rooted in Judeo tradition - The Torah delegates 100% credibility to a ben Noach [see Sanhedrin 57] yet this mistaken narrative in this Mishpacha article throws everybody under the bus!

JHS: Yes, We’ve Got the Music! The Jewish Music Revolution Part I

Modern Jewish music developed from the chassidic music of old to the new sound of the Jewish music revolution led by Shlomo Carlebach in the 1960's. The music world of pre war Europe was brought over to the emerging post war world by Yankel Talmud, Yom Tov Ehrlich, the Chabad niggunim, David Werdyger and Bentzion Shenker of Modzhitz. They served as the bridge to bring classic chassidic music to the new generation.

Two Terrible Bills in front of the New Jersey Legislature TODAY

There are two terrible bills in front of the New Jersey Legislature to be voted on TODAY! One bill indoctrinating children in Public Schools with immoral propaganda the other bill  subjecting residents of long-term healthcare facilities to deviants seeking to victimize them, with the sanction of the State by requiring  long term care centers to permit transgendered people to choose a roommate based on their gender identity.

Please call Assemblyman Gary Schaer   – THE ONLY ORTHODOX MEMBER OF THE LEGISLATURE And insist that he oppose both of these bills with all his might!

Call Assemblyman Schaer at 973-249-3665  or email AsmSchaer@njleg.org

May Hashem Have Rachmonus on all of us.

Click Here for the first Bill. It is a NJ strain of the Gezairas HaChinuch, S2781 /A4454 ("Education")

Click Here for the second Bill, S2545, which seeks to morally degrade long- term healthcare facilities with laws that would ultimately render it impossible to even use NJ Nursing Homes etc., much less own or operate them legally.

Whatsapp Forcing Users to Share Data with Facebook

WhatsApp will soon start sharing your data with Facebook whether you like it or not. In light of that, many people are searching for WhatsApp alternatives with deeper focuses on privacy and security. Here are two recommendations Signal and Telegram.  In an announcement sent to users on Wednesday, WhatsApp said users would have to agree to let Facebook and its subsidiaries collect WhatsApp data including users' phone numbers, contacts' phone numbers, locations, and more. If users do not agree by February 8, they will lose access. The move prompted calls for users to delete their WhatsApp accounts and switch to smaller encrypted messaging apps such as Signal and Telegram. "Signal and Telegram are now better alternatives if you are concerned about your privacy," the TechCrunch editor Mike Butcher tweeted. He shared comparisons of the data WhatsApp collects versus what Signal and Telegram collect.
