Video: A Niggun At the Levaya of Rabbi Twerski ztl
Rabbi Twerski requested that there should be no hespedim at his levaya but nstead he asked tha the niggun of הושיעה את עמך be sung a song that he composed in 1960 during davening and dang it at his brothers wedding a week later.
And I think perhaps he wanted this nigun because these are the words we use to count people for a minyan. Rabbi Twerski believed so much in every single person, that everyone counts.....
At Reb Shlomo's (Carlebach) levaya, they sang "gam ki elech" late into the night.
