  5. You cannot have it both ways. When it comes to giyus, the chareidi velt wants to call anyone who grew up in chareidi home as "chareidi" and yell about shmad if they get drafted. When they light fires in the street, all of a sudden they are not chareidi and are "fringe" or "marginal". YOU CANNOT HAVE IT BOTH WAYS.

THIS FAILURE TO FACE REALITY FOR MANY OF THE BOYS IS PRECISELY THE ISSUE PLAGUING THE OILAM IN EY. Not sure the solution, but I can hear the argument that some of these boys being drafted in the army may be a better route than letting them riot, cause damage and be mechallel sheim shamayim be'farhesya, or in another recent news story, let them roam around setting fires in apt buildings on Sorotzkin. The chareidi oilam is too big to control these "marginal" boys. They will continue to exist and cause problems unless we find a productive solution.

    1. its good to hear your opinion on the draft in Israel and how do deal with at risk children, but a little voice in my ear is whispering to me and saying Rabbonim/Daas Torah is supposed to be making decisions with regard to the army in general and in regard to at risk kids, not some random individuals halfway around the globe. Just some food for thought

    2. The point was not about the draft. The point was to be consistent, either take achrayus for them as "chareidi" or dont. Dont take achrayus in some areas and not others.

    3. read the original comment, an integral part of it seems to be directed at the draft position of the Gedolim in E''Y, I trust them that they are doing what is right, and where at risk kids come into that discussion, is a connection they have discussed and they don't seem to agree with the position of the original commentator

    4. That depends on which gedolim. It was directed at the peleg rabbonim. What is their plan for these kids. They have never said what it is, all they do is fight for a ptur for anyone who was ever registered in a chareidi yeshiva.

The degel approach is precisely designed to deal with these boys and protect the oilam hatora at the same time. Al pi the chazon ish and R' Shach, those who are toraso unmaso should learn and the others should not necessarily get a ptur.

    5. I don't know where your sources are from, from what I am hearing here in Israel despite the issue of at risk children being a big problem, the general approach of Degel Hatorah Rabbonim is not to encourage at risk children go to the army, with exceptions being made on case by case basis if that is what's is best al pi hashkafas hatorah in that specific circumstance

  11. Ivermectin, an FDA-approved anti-parasitic previously shown to have broad-spectrum anti-viral activity in vitro, is an inhibitor of the causative virus (SARS-CoV-2), with a single addition to Vero-hSLAM cells 2 h post infection with SARS-CoV-2 able to effect ~5000-fold reduction in viral RNA at 48 h.
