  1. In 67 all the yeshivos went to rally in DC, philly with R Elya, telshe etc. that was during the hippy movement and you can imagine what was going on there. Why did the yeshiva velt decide this is no longer proper?

    3. Huh? Why was there a point to that rally but not to this one? The universal laws of politics changed?

    4. none of us know anything about that 1967 rally. you can't make a tzushtel to something no one knows about and then ask why this is different.

    5. Hmmm. The Rav I heard from said it was the same. And what do you know? He said to go to this one too!

  2. I wasn't born yet but this is the first I ever heard that all the Yeshivas went to Washington in 1967. I've read accounts of American Yeshiva Bochurim during the time and none of them mentioned such a rally. Can you give more details?

    1. I wasn't born then either, but I know this from a Rav who was there.

    2. At that rally they didn’t have hollywood actresses dressed inappropriately and kol isha playing between speakers.

    3. Nonsense. Non-frum people in the height of the hippy movement didn't dress like rebbetzins.

    4. They knew before the fact that there wouldn't be kol isha? Maybe it's the loss of ruach hakodesh that explains why our behavior is so different from the previous dor.

  4. There was another later rally for Israel and Russian Jews together with the larger Jewish community.
    Wasn't such a good experience

  5. The kol koreh mentioned "mesorah," but as we see, the mesorah was, on the contrary, to go to such rallies.

  6. Previous rallies were organized with a frum Hashkafa in mind, and respect for the orthodox attendees. This rally was as Jewish as George Santos.

    1. I bet you just made that up. Were you there? Elaborate on who all the speakers were and exactly how the non-from organizers were magically convinced to run a frum-themed event.

  7. Its poshut. There were different gedolim the and now. The Gedolim then were more modern than the Gedolim today. So that explains the difference.

  8. There were no rallies or other in 67.
Many individuals went, many who had organizations behind them in
One (later became a Rav) who went said the Congressmen he lobbied told him Israel was winning the war, he couldn't believe them cause Israel was keeping quiet, while Nasser was saying Tel Aviv was burning. The congressmen were getting US intelligence reports reporting the truth

There was no kol Isha at this week's rally, only charedi singers (OK, one was sfardi) and a male-only a-cappella group. No rabbonim, no women speakers except for families of hostages (do you have a problem with that?) Who didn't sing.
