He first ignored it and tolled back over to sleep. The rebbe came back again and this time he felt like he was choking the talmid on his neck insisting that he leave right now with his wife and kids. 1. re "the dream"
בזיון ובושה לדבר על כאלו שטויות. דמיונות. על עם ישראל שנאמר עליהם והם לא יאמינו לי שיתפתו לכאלו סיפורי הבל כטפשים ופתיים.

  2. To Anonymous: If you're so sure about your opinion that you feel we should all read it, why don't you publicize your name? Reb Yitzchok Zilberstein had no problem writing his name! In the תשובה printed in ווי העמודים, he takes apart the שאלה & brings many ראיות. Where are yours?

  5. So be it. Achdus, uniting behind a man who currently has no power, all this talk of hakaros hatov, this last election show that this whole system is absolutely bizarre. All I asked for was for the lowest elected position to work with, the BOE, and I could not get that. I am already advocating in favor of Lakewood at the pinnacle of state government. Shouldn't the achdus, making our voice heard, be behind the one issue that no one thought could be won, yet the most important in our history? Why are we sending someone to Trenton to have a seat at the table, if we are already
there, and likely will own the table?

And then you have the lawyer saying he is opposed because if he would support us, the BOE would be sued. 1) there is no such thing as educational malpractice 2) contract law does not apply 3) sovereign immunity 4) it is the state's fault, not the BOE's. There is no cause of action. It is all a smoke screen to belittle everything we have accomplished in proving in court that the formula is at fault.

I don't care because I am not going to deal with those that opposed us in court, kept me at the bottom of the company ladder, and would not even allow me to speak to them at this crucial time in the litigation, or during the last ten years. Not because they opposed me in their court papers, not because some said to rabbanon that they don't trust me, but because they have breached the pubic trust. It is not nekama to not to "do favors" for those who have breached the pubic trust and will likely continue to do so. It is not even clear to me that they are acting even in their own interest. So I would suggest that they get some new people into office and get them to learn the formula, and then tell me what they need at the right time, show me that these people are honest, and I will deal with them as long as they are willing to put in the hours of work.

When this is all over and our bussing, special education, SCHI and other out-of-district special education, taxation, spending, non public stuff, is all up for grabs, and all of it would anyway have been at risk due to our debt, and the state has been blaming us for all our problems for two decades, so we know what the state is going to say against Lakeowod, that we are rich, we didn't change zoning to prevent Jewish people moving here (mamash discriminatory to say that), the interests of these people will not be represented. Yes, I will try my best, but I won't be talking to all those who did not let me talk to them. They are going to need elected officials that I can deal with, or better yet, I trust enough that I can get out and let them take over.

It has nothing to do with haskafa, da'sas Torah, Gedolim; it's all bottom line business. We are risking everything for achdus for the purpose of achdus, but not achdus for the sake of the continuity of our economic viability as a kehilla. I will do my best to further what make sense as to all the interests, but the kids will take priority, not the bosses, or whatever it is these people are pushing and selling out to the governor for. I will only talk with people with the public interest at heart and not a one of those involved in denying me help at a time when I needed it most to pressure the governor to settle.

It zichur is b'syata d;shmaya because if we settle, which I want to do so that I can get out and finish the matter, maybe get a new job and out of the ungrateful district, such a settlement will be only for Lakewood. On the other hand, if we fight to the Supreme Court and win, it will help every frum community in NJ, and by way of example, America.

I am the person who is considered a maverick? I am shaking up their power? I am not that. It is their own fault. There is no reason why they could not have talked to me but had to do everything in secret. For ten years I have tried, tried and tried to get support of the BOE and Township, and ask for help, but it was constantly refused. A L

    1. I know the limits of my own capabilities and I do not have the capacity to understand what the people of Lakewood want or need. I do know they need the formula fixed, and I know how to turn around the public schools, but I cannot be involved in defending all the other interests of the kehilla. Yes, I can defend against all the stupid claims of the state, that we have wealth, we should raise taxes, of course not as well as if I had help, but I do not understand the needs of the mosdos and other interests (as long as the kids and public benefit), and would rather have people to work with that have a better understand of our frum community. It is not about me other than that I want to win, like a mountain climber, because the victory, "it is there," but ultimately, let others, honest people, take charge.
