R' Aaron Lang on the court Victory yesterday

We won a resounding victory:
1. The Appellate Division has reassumed jurisdiction of the case as we asked;
2. The court granted our motion in aid of litigants’ rights; and
3. The court ordered the commissioner to comply with the remand order by April 1, 2024 (essentially four months from now and far earlier than she had proposed).
It is the same judge (and same day) that just SLAMMED the Lakewood BOE for $1.5 million. Their loss has NO RELEVANCE TO OUR CASE.

It was huge victory. The governor won't be able to kick the can down the road anymore.

  1. Personally I feel no safer knowing there are 700 gun toting cowboys with guns in Lakewood. Facing the risk of encountering someone minimally trained, and judging by the level of aggression witnessed on the roads of Lakewood, frankly I'm scared.

    1. Frankly the goal of the applicants is not to make YOU feel safer, but to make THEM feel safer and that's what they've accomplished. No one cares about how you feel. Take care of yourself if you'd like to and don't mind if others do the same for themselves. OK?

    3. Yes, that's my point. It makes them "feel" safer, but are they really any safer?

    4. Frankly I (don't) feel bad for the guy that starts up with one of those 700 gun toting cowboys with guns in Lakewood.

    5. Yes, they are. As a gun owner, I feel much knowing that I won't be a sitting duck for some thug who can come into my home leaving me defenseless. He'll have to contend with a 12 gauge shotgun that can take down a buffalo and I don't even have to aim. Believe me, NO ONE wants to face that. They want to enter homes where the most we can do is ask them nicely not to hurt us. No thank you. I may go down, but I'm taking a bunch of them down with me.
You've never been to the range. I suggest you pay a visit. You'll be amazed to see who else is there. Every 15 year old aino yehudi - male and female - they ALL have access to weapons and we sit around acting smug. Very foolish. A handy little pistol or shotgun can make much more powerful arguments than anything else we can muster.

    6. A whole society spiraling in decline.
      Sad.

Jews, even less observant, used to be chagrined to own a weapon

    7. A whole society spiraling in decline. Sad.

Instead of sad pontificating on the internet, people are improving the society by making sure that the criminals can't have simply roam
free. They now have what to be affraid of.

We should be chagrined by the state of crime. The chagrin should bring us to action to correct the situation, in any way we can.

    8. There is no data that shows that an armed society has less crime, or even less violent crime. None at all.

  2. bnos devora already has approval for a wedding hall, which is in addition to their existing gym that is rented out nightly and to their simcha hall; now they want the existing parking to be sufficient for both halls?? They currently have a packed lot with cars parked all over the grass!! But, go ahead, approve it.

    1. No. They’re actually big tzaddikim. They want to add another whopping 100 parking spaces for a hall that will require HUNDREDS of spaces!

  3. While the Powers That Be pursue pie-in-the-sky tuition relief by voting out friendly Republicans to install someone who admits he has no plan how to get it done, Mr Lang single-handedly wins court case after court case to achieve a fair funding formula.

And he does it alone. Zero help from the leaders of this town.

    I can only wonder why.

  4. I think we need to thank the Va'ad for the Lang win.

  6. Shame the Lang slate did not get elected to the BOE. What are the current BOE members doing about all the debt that we are all in because oif the non stop borrowing from the state? $190,000,000 in debt.... Does the BOE have a plan?
