The New Jersey State Police bomb squad unit was in Lakewood, NJ this morning after a grenade was found taped to a street pole outside the Satmar shul on Forest Ave. Poloce were notified at 8am and closed off the area. The Grenade was removed and was later determined to be empty. An investigation is underway
The device was found to be inert and nonexplosive. There is no danger to the public and this remains an active and ongoing investigation,” Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said in a statement released Sunday.
