-Two more soldiers killed in Gaza Amit Bonzel, 22 , from Shoham, Alemanu Emanuel Feleke, 22 from Kiryat Gat. Bringing Gaza death toll to 86.

- UN chief Antonio Guterres calls for a ceasefire: "I've just invoked Art.99 of the UN Charter - for the 1st time in my tenure as Secretary-General. Facing a severe risk of collapse of the humanitarian system in Gaza, I urge the Council to help avert a humanitarian catastrophe & appeal for a humanitarian ceasefire to be declared".

- Arab nations at the United Nations are fine-tuning a proposed UN Security Council resolution calling for a ceasefire in the two-month Israeli-Gaza war.

- Due to American Govt pressure Israel's war cabinet has agreed to allow more fuel, and accepting certain restrictions on the scale of IDF actions south of the Gaza River

-Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said Israel plans to force the Hezbollah terror group to move away from the border, and does not expect northern residents to return to their homes before it does so.

- In an apparent attempt at damage control, the president of Harvard University, Claudine Gay, issues a statement signaling that people have allegedly misunderstood her widely-panned remarks during a US House hearing yesterday, when she said that calls on campus for genocide against Jews are not necessarily harassment (TOI)


- Netanyahu says IDF soldiers have surrounded theb house of Hamas leader Sinwar but he may not be there

- IDF soldiers who are Chabad chasidim have transformed a house in the northern Gaza city of Beit Hanoun into the “first Chabad House in Gaza.” They plan on keeping it active over chanukah for thousands of soldiers to come by and spread the light

- Another soldier killed during fighting in the Gaza Strip, bringing the toll of the ground offensive to 84: Adi Shani HYD, 39, from Tzur Yitzhak.

- The IDF says it has been shelling Hezbollah sites in southern Lebanon with artillery and tank fire since this morning . A drone also hit a Hezbollah command room, it says.

-The IDF discovered one of the largest caches of weapons during operations in the northern Gaza Strip located near a health clinic and a school, included hundreds of RPGs, dozens of anti-tank missiles, dozens of explosives, long-range rockets, dozens of grenades and several drone

- Sen. Bernie Sanders has come out against giving about $10 billion in emergency U.S. aid to Israel as part of a national security spending bill. "I do not believe we should be appropriating over $10 billion for the right-wing extremist Netanyahu government to continue its current military approach," 

- A surface-to-surface missile, believed to have been launched from Yemen, was intercepted over the Red Sea using the long-range Arrow air defense system. The incident set off sirens in the southernmost city of Eilat, though the IDF says the missile did not enter Israeli airspace.

- IDF says “fierce battles” with Hamas operatives in the Gaza Strip continue. As of this morning, 83 soldiers have died in the Gaza ground offensive, and the Air Force has carried out strikes against more than 250 targets over the past day. 

- Rockets intercepted by Iron Dome over Beer Sheva. others hit and damaged vehicles  no injuries reported 

- The number of hostages believed to still be held in Gaza was raised from 137 to 138 people after military intelligence concluded that one of the people who had been declared missing since the Hamas onslaught on October 7 is a hostage.

 - Washington Post Hamas still remains largely intact  At least 5,000 Hamas terrorists have been killed, according to three Israeli security officials, leaving the majority of the group’s estimated 30,000-strong military wing intact. (WaPo)

- Rep. Elise Stefanik: "Presidents of Harvard, MIT and Penn  REFUSE to say whether “calling for the genocide of Jews” is bullying and harassment according to their codes of conduct. Even going so far to say it needs to turn to “action” first. As in committing genocide. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND ANTISEMITIC. They must all resign immediately today."
