Hashkafa with Rav Gershon Ribner shlita
Modernity introduced new liturgy when praying for the safety of Israeli soldiers
Injecting a meaningful sentiment of commiseration for our brothers at war
My wife believes my raison d'etre is to serve her
Conceivable reasons we don't use our most powerful artillery amidst bloody warfare
Analyzing the stimulant of videos for children's recreation
Overcoming hesitations parting with hard earned money for Tzedaka
I was once very against the Mi Sbeirach for Chayilim but I’m no longer so sure. Seeing how successful that Mi Sbeirach was in ingraining in secular Israeli society that Hashem is the one who watches over and decides the fate of Israeli soldiers, seeing it ,and more importantly Hashem, being invoked by completely secular Israelis in a manner that Achenui Kol Bais Yisroel never would have been brought about, maybe those who (like the Schnall campaign) said you will never have influence in the opposition, our Mi siberech will fight the “kochey Votzem Yodey” attitude your opposition won’t… etc. were really right after all.
ReplyDeleteThese things come & go. They becuse it's necessary seem pious. For a moment.
DeleteI listened to Rabbi Ribner's objection on adding a new Misheberach to davening. Fine. So why not say it AFTER davening. AFTER tehillim.??? I do not hear that addressed.
