- UN security council hearing today on resolution calling for a ceasefire in Gaza

- Two women beat a Jewish woman unconscious in London, Stamford Hill then continue to beat her limp body while passers-by ignore the whole thing. 

 - A 28-year-old man Mufid Fawaz Alkhader was arrested after firing two shots outside Temple Israel in Albany, New York, on Thursday, the first night of Chanukah. There were no injuries in the shooting on the premises of the Conservative synagogue The suspect shouted “Free Palestine” during the incident. 

- Families of Israelis being held hostage by Hamas were reprimanded by representatives of the Red Cross in a meeting earlier this week, with the Red Cross telling one family they need to “think about the Palestinian side. It’s hard for the Palestinians, they’re being bombed.”

- Several chasidic courts instructed  their followers to minimize from large gatherings  asking the chasidim to stay local and that the Rebbe will travel to their areas instead of everyone going to the headquarters. They also stated that people keep  low profile due to the war as there are daily levayos. Ponovezh Roshei yeshiva wrote a letter that talmidim stay in yeshiva for shabbos chanukah to strengthen Torah learning.

-Sirens are sounding in Tel Aviv and suburbs following rocket fire from the Gaza Strip.

At the same time, a suspected drone infiltration alarm is sounding in several communities in the Upper Galilee, including the city of Kiryat Shmona, near the Lebanon border.

Antony Blinken said yesterday there is has been a gap between Israel’s intent to protect civilians and the actual results on the ground. Over 16,000 Palestinians have been killed since October 7, with the IDF saying the ratio between civilians to combatants is roughly two to one.
