- A man was killed and a Cranford police officer was shot late Thursday when a car chase ended in gunfire on the Garden State Parkway in Woodbridge, authorities said. Cranford officers chased a stolen vehicle onto the Parkway before it crashed near Exit 131, the state Attorney General’s Office said in a statement. After the crash, two police officers exchanged gunfire with the driver.
