- Many out of towners spending shabbos chanukah  with their married children at their second homes in Jackson Lakewood and Toms River.

- A 28-year-old man Mufid Fawaz Alkhader was arrested after firing two shots outside Temple Israel in Albany, New York, on Thursday, the first night of Chanukah. There were no injuries in the shooting on the premises of the Conservative synagogue The suspect shouted “Free Palestine” during the incident.
