- Weather: 58° — Windy with rain developing this afternoon. Thunder possible. Winds 20 to 30 mph. Chance of rain: 100%. Strong thunderstorms, including heavy rain and gusty winds, could cause power outages in New Jersey starting Wednesday afternoon, according to the latest forecast. A wind advisory will be in effect from noon to 6 p.m. for Atlantic, southeast Burlington, Cape May, Cumberland, and Ocean counties.
-President Trump is expected to issue an executive order as soon as Thursday aimed at abolishing the Education Department, according to people briefed on the matter.
- NYPD has arrested multiple pro Hamas students protesting at Barnard College after there was a bomb threat. There's reports NYPD appears to be releasing protesters without identifying them
-More traffic on Central ave- Nightly road closures on Central Avenue between Sunset Road and New Central Avenue for next few weeks due to construction work by NJ american water. Detour has caused sunset rd to get backed up towards James. Next Thursday, Purim night, the rd may be shut as well.
- Attorney General Andrew Bailey of Missouri:
I am demanding the DOJ investigated whether President Biden’s cognitive decline allowed unelected staff to push through radical policy without his knowing approval. If true, these executive orders, pardons, and all other actions are unconstitutional and legally void.
- The hostages gave president Trump a plaque with the inscription in Hebrew: כל המציל נפש אחת כאילו הציל עולם ומלואו
- Trump issues statement to Hamas:
Shalom Hamas" means Hello and Goodbye - You can choose. Release all of the Hostages now, not later, and immediately return all of the dead bodies of the people you murdered, or it is OVER for you. Only sick and twisted people keep bodies, and you are sick and twisted! I am sending Israel everything it needs to finish the job, not a single Hamas member will be safe if you don't do as I say. I have just met with your former Hostages whose lives you have destroyed. This is your last warning! For the leadership, now is the time to leave Gaza, while you still have a chance. Also, to the People of Gaza: A beautiful Future awaits, but not if you hold Hostages. If you do, you are DEAD! Make a SMART decision. RELEASE THE HOSTAGES NOW, OR THERE WILL BE HELL TO PAY LATER!
- Trump: Justin Trudeau, of Canada, called me to ask what could be done about Tariffs. I told him that many people have died from Fentanyl that came through the Borders of Canada and Mexico, and nothing has convinced me that it has stopped. He said that it's gotten better, but I said, "That's not good enough." The call ended in a "somewhat" friendly manner! He was unable to tell me when the Canadian Election is taking place, which made me curious, like, what's going on here? I then realized he is trying to use this issue to stay in power. Good luck Justin!
- Again Central Avenue construction is causing 40-minute backups, but township officials have not provided updates on what is being done or how long it will take. There are no officers directing traffic, and only one lane is open leading into Route 9. Crews have also closed and narrowed Carranetta Road at the intersection with Central Avenue to a single lane for right turns.
Tomorrow is not the deadline, and the LSTA knows that. The legal deadline is March 10th, with schools allowed to submit until March 15th. If submitted late, only an explanation is needed. However, schools are wrongly threatening parents that they won’t have bussing if not submitted by tomorrow, which is incorrect.
ReplyDeleteSome schools (you know who you are) haven’t even sent out forms, and the LSTA knows. As of yesterday, only 27,707 forms have been submitted out of 57,000—less than 50%, which is terrible if tomorrow is the deadline.
It’s time for schools to consider creating their own consortium. It’s legal and would help eliminate this arm-twisting.
Central Avenue construction:
DeleteI live there. They are not doing anything. They are simply redoing what is already there without any improvements.
They spent millions on these contracts, and the outcome will be more or less exactly the same as it was before they started.
Shame on our elected official's !
Why don't you send this complaint to the lakewood shopper submissions (submissions @ familyroommagazine.com) so that we can educate the people in Lakewood on how the township officials are not doing their job properly. Perhaps it will encourage people to vote for new members with new ideas without the deep corruption that is there currently.
DeleteAll of you who make fun of Meir Lichtenstein, it's ok to disagree but don't make fun of him because if chas vshalom something happens to you or someone in your family HE WILL BE THERE - either as hatzolah or chevra kadisha!
DeleteNo one made fun
DeleteOne has nothing to do with the other stick to the narrative and stop bullying with Chevra kadisha C"V
Why don't people fill out the forms for goodness sake! A new consortium will also need you to fill out forms! They can make deadlines as they wish - most businesses make deadlines earlier than the real deadline because you always have the people that just miss deadlines.
DeletePeople will fill out paper forms as always and legal.
DeleteWhy can't they send paper copies for all students?
So out of area parents have a problem. If they reject the 3000$ option they lose the lieu in of aid as well. The LSTA is out of control.
ReplyDeleteNo taxation without representation!!! The LSTA has to open their books to public scrutiny. This is totally out of hand.
ReplyDeleteemail address for the New Jersey Department of Education's Office of School Finance for student transportation is student.trans@doe.nj.gov. The phone number for this office is (609) 376-9064.
DeleteGood idea!
DeleteEveryone should email and call the New Jersey Department of Education and demand that the LSTA books be opened.
Also demand a stop to the discrimination of the private schools that need to pay for transportation and the public school children don't.
I filed a suit in January against the Commissioner, the BOE, and the NJ DOE to set up a oversight board as required by the legislature. They will hold public hearings, open the books, and answer to the public. I am keeping my plaintiff anonymous. MER-L-000076-25. A Lang
DeleteWhy not just request for fair service?
DeleteYou people need serious help - without the consortium half of the kids have no bussing! Do you have a better solution! Calling the state and shutting down the consortium? What a brilliant move!
DeleteAvi Schnall was sent to Trenton for one mission only to being Tuition Relief!!
ReplyDeleteHe failed on that promise.
All these other bills are just PR for his reelection and not making a difference most have no chance of getting passed anyways.
All those who bullied and forced Lakewood to vote have some explaining to do.
Schnall was sent to secure the nursing home reimbursements keep flowing and keep rates to go up so the big powerful askanim can rake it in fun feter shmeel. They fooled everyone to vote by promising free tuition.
DeleteThe Republicans have a knack for distraction.
ReplyDeleteInstead of discussing serious issues, let's talk about Zelensky's suit, clapping for a child, or men in women's sports.
And people just fall for it, every time. They are being played like fiddles, and are even thankful for it.
Keep posting. We love when liberals get so angry about everything Trump. You entertain us daily.
DeleteWhat is the serious issue you'd like addressed? He's been president for six weeks, yet all the issues are his fault. He'll get it done quicker than Biden's transitory inflation.
DeleteAnd if men in woman's sports isn't important, than you're not even worth an intelligent debate.
And you left out nuclear weapons, energy independence, a strong armed forces, border security, drug smuggling reduction, etc.
I always knew barrett is a liberal
ReplyDeleteYou have it backwards. He was sent so that the masses will be forced to give vote backing for the manhig goons.
ReplyDeleteHis cover mission was a side concession
As we knew all along the LSTA is a business raking it in and a total scam. The bus service we get stinks. Kids have to wait 20 min after school ends for busses to come?? Busses get to school after school starts that's not called service that's called deceiving everyone by saying you can pick up the routes.
ReplyDeleteYou're right, it would be much better if they consolidated routes and put boys and girls on the same buses so we can save some money. In fact, if not for the LSTA, this is exactly what the state would have forced Lakewood to do. So lets abolish the LSTA and do what saves us more money.
DeleteWow! Woe.
DeleteNo middle way, no way can give service, no way clients can be satisfied, no way ???
If it would've been privately operated th we e would be no solution?
According to B P business tips, there is always a way of making it work.
This is the middle way - Do you realize half of Lakewood has complaints the LSTA would need a whole call center to address everyone's issues - The LSTA cannot accommodate everyone's issues - Stops are far away and that is legal and they don't have a choice if everyone would get stops at their corner - guess what wed lose half of the routes! The lSTA complainers are pathetic
DeleteFar from the middle, sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry
DeleteIf there would be service would not need so much of a call center, but if that's what's needed for this service then do atleast that.
If service means doing what's legal than they're in terrible shape
It's legal to file by paper.
It's legal to service your clients.
stop complaining and count - the bussing can not be done for $100/month per child - its the same amount as pre covid pre inflation. I can't afford this, but its unreasonable to pretend that it is ridiculous for the cost of bussing to have gone up.
ReplyDeleteI dont think R' Kanarek and company need the LSTA to make a living. Publicly calling them thieves is going too far
Yeah, but what would be with the guy who wasn't given an administrative job in the BOE? Doesn't he have a right to do his bit of נקמה and 'revenge'. Well, he thinks so. So, there.
DeleteWhich is why the same candidates will always win. The alternatives are just worse.
Those in power feel no accountability because an unelected, obscure Vaad secures their positions. Most of the machers live in a small part of town and don’t deal with the traffic and other issues the rest of us face. Meanwhile, they profit from shady deals while dictating how things run, leaving us unrepresented.
ReplyDeleteThe Faulkner Act council system would change that by ensuring district-based representation, where elected officials actually live in the areas they serve, experience the same challenges, and answer to the people—not backroom deals. It’s time for real local representation.
They installed some dumb mini curb at the Central and Caranetta intersection and at the Central and South Lake Drive intersection.(Although the South Lake part is a one way street, so what's the point of dividing it and giving an outlet if you're not even allowed to drive in that direction? 😇)
ReplyDeleteThe reason it is one way is to stop people from making a left onto central and holding up traffic. Now that it is right turn only it will be 2 way. (Still only useful for around 10 people though, so not sure why they couldn't just leave it as is)
DeleteIts probably not on the states plans that it was a one way street - probably done without any meeting etc.
DeleteYes, I'm worried about people disregarding the right turn only sign and making the left onto Central. And yes, I also think the State didn't realize it was now a one way street.
DeleteTwo way with parking . . . . . .
DeleteIf they don't want hell to break loose they better not have construction Thursday and Friday. Taanis Esther and Purim.
ReplyDeleteLets shut down 14th street those 2 days and let's see what will happen!!!!
ReplyDelete14th street is already shut down during hours when yeshiva seder starts and ends . In addition once the 600 apartments come on line ,it will be shut down most of the day .
ReplyDelete14th is never shut down. Even County Line is not shut down only sometimes heavily congested, can even us Kennedy.
ReplyDeleteWhen Kent Howell bridge was under construction County Line was a detour.
