Israel At War Tuesday March 18

 Israel at war day 529

- GAZA WAR UPDATE:

- Israel unofficially sends a message to Hams that for any live hostage that will be killed, Israel will annex parts of Gaza.

- After the return to fighting was kept in high-level IDF secrecy - at 2:10 a.m., the order was given, and the attacks began. The opening strike lasted less than 10 minutes. Senior Hams and Islamic Jihad officials were eliminated within a few minutes, and a total of 80 targets were attacked simultaneously by IDF aircraft.

- IDF: Hamas has recently planned to carry out attacks on our posts in the buffer zone and into Israeli territory.

- Hamas spokesman Abdel Latif al-Qanoa told Qatari Al Arabi: "Witkoff's proposal was on the negotiating table, and we accepted it; Hams' interest was to continue the agreement - but Netanyahu renewed the war. The organization is in contact with the mediators and is acting responsibly and positively regarding the cessation of aggression, and it will continue to hold talks with them."

- Red alerts throughout the Negev and Beersheba (Southern Israel) due to the launch of a ballistic missile from Yemen. It was intercepted bh

- IDF issues evacuation orders for some Gaza areas, as it signals new offensive may expand

The assessment in Israel is that we managed to eliminate hundreds of terrorists tonight, including significant figures in Hams, and also many who participated in the release of hostages and who were involved in their humiliation."We are at 10% out of 100%," they say this morning in Israel, with 100 being an entry into the Strip with large forces.
If Hams refuses to negotiate - we will get there very soon.”

- Hamas ministry in Gaza updates the numbers: 412 killed and more than 500 wounded so far.

- WSJ: President Trump gave Israel the green light to resume fighting in Gaza after Hams refused to release more hostages. Israel gave the US a warning before the attack began

- Egyptian sources: Israel has informed mediators of its refusal to accept a ceasefire at this stage

-Israeli Security source: “We are returning to negotiations under fire. If Hams wants a ceasefire? Release the hostages”

- With concerns of the families of the hostages to their lives- Israeli security sources: "The number one goal in the renewal of fighting is the return of the hostages. Protecting the lives of the hostages in Gaza is our top priority.
During all the preparations in recent days and weeks, the Intelligence Branch and the Shin Bet - worked to ensure that the hostages would not be harmed as a result of the renewal of fighting.  Any place where there is even a tiny chance that a hostage would be harmed - we do not attack there; that is the number one consideration. The safety of the hostages - above all."

- Israel decided to close the Rafah crossing - Gazans can not leave for medical treatment anymore.

- Released hostages and the families of those still held captive by Hamas reacted Tuesday to Israel's renewed attacks in Gaza, with many expressing fears as to what the attack will mean for the safety of the hostages and the possibility of bringing them home. "The return to fighting means that The State of Israel decided to give up on the hostages," Udi Goren, whose cousin Tal Haimi's body is still being held by Hamas, told The Jerusalem Post.

- Elimination of senior Hams members so far:
- Issam Da'alis, a member of Hams' political bureau who, before the outbreak of the war, was considered Hams' prime minister in Gaza
- Mahmoud Abu Watfa, Director General of Hams’s Interior Ministry
- Bahjat Abu Sultan, head of Hams’s internal security services
- Ahmed Omar Al-Hata, director general of Hams’s Justice Ministry
