- From an article in this week issue of the Lakewood shopper about the district 30 election:
- While the democratic establishment is coddling anti semites, our republican representatives in state government have always stood up for our community They have consistently fought against hate and have done everything in their power to stop its spread
With hatred bubbling beneath the surface one may be puzzled why a member of our community would choose at this specific time to besmirch an elected official who has always been a true friend to our community and to try to label him in ridiculous ways as something he is clearly not. Such fake outrage over non -existent antisemitism can only serve to embolden the real haters and draw more antagonism towards our community.

Once you make up a price and sign up for a Year subscription are you allowed to go back on your word and charge more?
ReplyDeleteHow is this allowed al pi halacha?
Is their a rav that is allowing the circle to do this?
6 months ago they changed from a yearly subscription to a monthly subscription. Nothing is locked in for more than the month.
DeleteThat said, with the current increase I cancelled my subscription.
Canceled already the content is not hashkafikly sound with a woke agenda and lots of anti Trump articles no reason little kids should be exposed to it it's not one news article but 3 or 4 about Trump indictments
DeleteWho cares if they changed to a monthly subscription
DeleteThey still have subscribers signing up for a year
There are no annual subscriptions anymore.
DeleteFrom the FAQ on their website:
"Can I purchase an annual subscription?
In an effort to avoid raising prices at all cost, The Circle has converted to a monthly auto-renew plan to minimize customer service overhead. You don't need to worry though you can easily cancel online at anytime."
Not true they make you sign up for a year.
Delete"Minimize customer service overhead" (whatever that means) definitely does not mean raising $48 a year.
DeleteWhat was the price before the increase?
Did they in effect double the price?
Did something happen? Why were 400 people assisted by shomrim this week?
ReplyDeleteMean someone explain why I never heard of Ned Thompson? Supposedly he’s been representing us for the last 5+ years. What has he some? Anyone know his accomplishments? Anyone get helped by him?
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely disgusting that a "Frum" publication decides to dedicate space nonstop to bashing a Frum yid who has helped so many of us while promoting a guy who most people never heard of since he's done nothing.
DeleteEspecially with everything going on now, they couldn't even let up for a moment.
That publication is never coming into my house again
Yes the vaad said to vote for him last time because of hakoras hatov he helped get the lsta legislation and recruited other Republicans
DeleteWhat has Shnall the Democrat done that he needs to oust a friendly incumbent ,
Why does he have to have a seat instead of lobbying?
Why is there no concern for eiva and sinas yisroel from such a dirty move putting the community in a dangerous situation by fighting our republican neighbors with hisgarus
Who is financing his campaign?
Follow the money as always
And how involved is meir Lichtenstein?
It's worth checking out
Kudos to the shopper for speaking out on a power grab and potential danger to our community
DeleteNo one appointed Avi Schnal to represent the Orthodox community in fact many Jackson residents are livid at what was done to their friendly neighbors with the agudah lawsuits
He is controlled by the powerful and is refusing to talk to the community and explain why he is trying to force the kehillla to vote for him as a Democrat and to upset the republican population in Monmouth and Ocean counties to be represented by a Rabbi who fought against Jackson
Don't you think this is causing sings Yisrael and putting us in danger?
Is he doing the dirty work for Murphy to flip a seat for them using signatures from all the moetzes who were not given the full picture and not held any public forum for people to ask questions?
There alot of unknown and backroom deals that is not disclosed to the public
We demand answers why the Hakoras hatov is thrown out the window as we shtech the eyes of a incumbent who helped us. And forcing a representation on the republican neighbors who don't want this
A politician who you never heard of is also good news. It means he never he did or said anything stupid or that causes problems. Halevei if Schnall wins the only complaint anyone will ever have about him is that we never hear from him
DeleteAbsolutely disgusting that a "Frum" publication decides to dedicate space nonstop to bashing a Frum yid who has helped so many of us while promoting a guy who most people never heard of since he's done nothing. One of my many issues with Schnall running is the type of machlokes and acrimony his campaign and tenure is almost guaranteed to cause. Does we need more "I don't want to hear from them because they took the wrong view on my candidate" type of atitude? For now I'm only seeing it from the Schnall supporters but I can totally see it coming from his opponents as well. People rarely, if ever, get so worked up about the local non-Jewish politicians if they aren't openly hostile . Better that we should stick them.
ReplyDeleteWhat's your problem if the vaad tells to vote one way I vote the other. I do not take advice of people I do not know the vaad has its agenda and it is not the yungerleit. When I'm doubt I ask daas Torah
ReplyDeleteThe shnall campaign is using fake issues to try and fool the olam like widening route 9. Every politician for the last 50 years made the same empty promise. Remember corzine pledged it, as did Ray Coles with fake news about rt 9.
ReplyDeleteShnal campaign is not being open and forthcoming about why they are doing this. The PR campaign is blaming the state that was in power all these years and could have helped lakewood so its time to stop trying to fool the voters and be mature an honest about who what when about the candidate running as a liberal Democrat in New Jersey
You all got it wrong. Schnall is one of only three people in Lakewood opposed to the school funding case. He complains that legislators do not listen to him because the matter is in court. We already have the attention of the Democratic leadership in the Senate but he still refuses to capitalize upon that. He fails to understand that a court order will do more for Lakewood over the next century until Mashiach comes than he can possible accomplish by backslapping friends in Trenton. He should not be elected because as soon as we get the final court order, he will of no help, a mooch an errand boy at most.
DeleteWill shnall stand up to Murphy when he asks him for a vote on a liberal agenda
ReplyDeleteWas he able to stand up to him when the yeshivos were not allowed to open?
There were askanim and unzere politicians who stormed into the Lakewood rosh yeshiva not letting him open the yeshivos shavuos time
Will they hold strong again if Murphy pushed them to follow his orders
The VAAD listens to the governor to the detriment of the oilam. As long as $$$ flows a certain way its all good. Vote the local encumbents out. Vote Hershkowitz and Lang BOE slate to change the formula and help the taxpayer.
ReplyDeleteOne must always be suspicious of anything, or anyone that has to do with the tziony Agudas Yisrael
ReplyDeleteYou are so right!
DeleteThat's why I don't learn Mishna Berura. It's author was affiliated with the Agudah, so it's suspicious
Shnall campaign continues to ignore the serious questions and insult the tzibur with photo ops and videos.
ReplyDeleteWhat a slap in the face thr olam must speak up and demand from the rabbonim of they are taking achrayus for a serious danger they are potentially putting us in.
We don't need frum in state level ruling over the locals.
I just don't understand all this "liberal," "Covid" and whatever else is posted. There is one issue and one issue only. Will Lakewood go bust? The people in politics have this notion that we will never have to pay back the debt. The governor does not have the power to forgive it. Only the legislature can forgive the debt and the legislature will not do so without a court order or a settlement between the plaintiffs and the state. Even then, forgiveness of the debt is not guaranteed. Anyone who thinks that siding with Murphy, Democrats, or whomever on some kind of statewide or national issue is missing the point. You won't have homes to live in when the Ponzi scheme collapses. This election is about LAKEWOOD AND NOTHING ELSE!
ReplyDeleteWell said.
DeleteKleinekeppelkeit
ReplyDeleteTo make that the sole issue
Whatever the issues are make sure to vote for Hershel Herskowitz
DeleteThe man who lives and breaths Lakewood who has been and will be there for the people
No you are wrong. The funding formula has been and alway swill be the most important issue to Lakewood. Of secondary importance is the fact that the people have no say in their own affairs. Members of our own community will meet with the governor to discuss issues of vital importance behind the back of those with the most knowledge of the facts and numbers, those whom are already working on the highest levels of state government, ALONE, without any help from anyone of them. As far as they're concerned, Lakewood is their turf, not ours. And they would rather sell out their friends and neighbors than have someone else do the job particularly when the job is solving the funding formula, the holy grail of Lakewood politics.
DeleteIt seems that everyone is under the illusion that power is derived from the ability to slap backs, or from whom one knows, rather than their own comprehension of the issues, their own education, their own mental acuity and submission of their own interest to that of the common good. No matter, they are just a nuisance, much like raccoons or squirrels in the attack, who can't do any harm, just annoy.
I want to also add that we pay for having a home-rule state. NJ is a multiplicity of municipalities. That means every one of the 564 municipalities needs a manager, clerk, police chief, each school district a superintendent, costing us more in taxes than in any other state that has a history of consolidating local units of government. The benefit is that government is close to the people; it is local. That together with the fact that there are no big city newspapers or television stations, NJ maintains a bottom up power structure. As long as we in Lakewood, however, entrust our welfare to a small group that gives the marching orders to the polls, we will fail to reap the advantages of home rule, while at the same time paying for it with higher taxes than any other state.
ReplyDeleteBrisk is starting on Rechov Press
ReplyDeleteHere is an important question for Schnall: What if anything have you done for Rabbi Eisenman? Have you ever asked your friend Governer Murphy to pardon him?
ReplyDeleteIs a softie
DeleteMurphy will throw him that bone
If you tie it in
I am so far not convinced not to vote for schnal - all of the sudden I should care that the Vaad never voted out an incumbent? I called their offices multiple times over the years weather it was CHS, unemployment, USPS etc they NEVER helped me. Yet somehow Chris Smith was a much more helpful destination! Fact is they never help the little guy and I will vote as I see fit. Don’t tell me Eiva - yes, I know they ran around during Covid about Eiva - but guess what I didn’t buy into it than as Goyim will always find an excuse to blame the Jews. I don’t buy the eiva thing, not than, and not now. How many of you are flip flopping wether it be to vote out an incumbent or the Eiva claim??
DeleteGood spin are you getting paid by the shnall campaign to troll and pretend to curse out the vaad but you are still voting for shnall
DeleteThe olam sees right through your sad attemp
Come up with a better one next time
I don't know if Schnall talked to Murphy about Eisman but I do know that he, or his supporters, did speak to him about the school funding case. They stand hand in hand in their opposition. Like keshas ra in Sanhedran 26a, that their vote does not count, when Shavna, who even had a rabbim, sent a letter to Sancheriv behind the back of his king and people, this group had no business to discuss the matter behind the back of people fighting against state. Their endorsement is pasul.
