- Hamas releases 2  elderly hostages Nurit Yitzchok Cooper 80, and Yocheved Lifshutz  85who were handed over to the red cross and transfered to Egypt. They are Israeli citizens only one of their husbands is still behind inbGaA

With talks of hostages to be released israel refuses to get involved in selection process of who should be released. The red cross is reported to receive some hostages in the Khan Yunis area of Gaza.

Times of Israel: after 16 days of airstrikes, the IDF has told the government that it is fully prepared for a ground offensive in the Gaza Strip, and believes it can achieve the goals set out for it, even at "the risk of heavy casualties to soldiers", and amid ongoing attacks by Hezbollah in the north. But the military fears that the government may not ever give the order to begin the ground offensive, or postpone it for a lengthy period.

- Shas leader Aryeh Deri denies that a ground invasion of Gaza is being held up by politicians refusing to give the army a green light. “You can’t just go in at a moment’s notice. I can’t divulge all the details, but it’s not like the army is ready and the political side isn’t letting it [invade],” Deri tells his faction at a weekly meeting.

-The New York Times has apologized for blaming Israel for the attack on a hospital in Gaza. The publication published an editorial in which they promise to be more careful about information that journalists cannot verify and obtain confirmation from reliable sources.

  3. Would have been nice and appropriately American had Obama mentioned the plight of civilians who were cruelky abducted. The Israelis didn't decide out of the blue to stop deliveries into Gaza. Duh! Be kind to the Gazans who are cheering Hamas brutality? On your back Mr Obama.

  4. And who said that Israel is obligated to supply Gazans with fuel any more than Obama himself? Obama is worth millions: let him send his extra, useless cash to his co-religionists in Gaza.
