  1. What is going on it seems the adirei hatorah uenj team are pushing shnals candidacy after he initially opposed vouchers.
Now rabbonim are getting pressured and signing against everything they preached for years
We don't care any more about hakoras hatov or only voting republican and not voting for a Democrat majority in NJ
Worse, during this dangerous time they are raitzing uhn sinas Yisrael across all out friendly neighbors in Ocean and Monmouth County.
The community is in a potential Sakana and no one says a word all they care is about vouchers that will never be coming from the democrats.
Politicians who were friendly to the community have suddenly become labeled as antisemitic by a disgusting campaign of power thirsty askanim that are trying to bully the community because they have a few dollars

We must speak out and demand answers from the rabbonim not photo ops of rabbinim smiling signing letters with avi shnall

Since when can we tchepper our neighbors and publicly tell them we will not represent you all we care about is our needs

  2. It's even worse that Schnall and Co are not publicly supporting the Lang lawsuit that would bring financial relief to lakewood

  3. So many people do not understand that we have an election oriented two-party system in this country, unlike the issue oriented multi-party system in countries that do not have geographic representation in which winner takes all. Hence it is the candidate that takes a stand on the issues, not the party. Party platforms are meaningless. It is not the end of the world if someone is a Democrat, and certainly not in this election where the difference between the parties pales in comparison to the in the solvency of our town, its fiscal collapse, and perhaps the financial wellbeing of every frum community in America. Somehow, these peewee leaguers think there is no problem to encumber the taxpayers with $200 million in debt, that we won't have to pay it back (that is not what the statute says), and we might as well allow this state sanctioned Ponzi scheme to reach a billion dollars soon.

There will be no more important local issue for 100 years.

With that said, Schnall's problem is not that he is Democrat. His sin is opposed to the school funding litigation, even after the appellate victory.

The lawyer fighting for Lakewood was promised a chance to meet with the Vaad to explain where we are at in the litigation. It was a no brainer to get their support. As if someone discovered oil in the North Seas, by way of mashul, and appeared before the board of Shell Oil, and they would reject the exploration thereof?

Already the Majority Leader of the Senate, and Appropriations Committee Chairman are asking the Commissioner, "How much" for Lakewood. The governor is pulling her strings, and ostensibly those of the AG. As it turned out, the Vaad made their endorsements without having that meeting. And it was not until a few days later that it was revealed on Friday that some of them met with the governor in which he expressed his vehement opposition to the litigation, which of course, everyone knew about since his AG is the adversary in Court. Of course he opposed it but as Lakewood public servants, they should be defending it. That is how the system works. You compromise and settle. Had the lawyers been informed of this meeting, they would have advised the community leaders to convince the governor to settle and for how much. The governor cannot afford to have the SFRA ruled unconstitutional as applied to any district, as it truly is as applied to Lakewood. But since everything in Lakewood has to be secret and behind the back of those most intimately involved, nay opposed to those most involved, instead of defending our cause, they acquiesced to the governor. No matter, it won't affect the outcome anyway. They are just a nuisance, like little children playing childish games.

  5. What is Avi promising that they are supporting him? CAn we check back in a year if he is elected to see if it happens? It is worth it for sinas yisroel in galus?

    1. It's not even worth it for the internal machlokes in kllal yisroel his campaign has caused. At this point even if I believed that Schnall could accomplish what he is (very vaguely) claiming he will do I will still tell him not to run. And if you do support Schnall you saw it here first: Route 9 is not going to be widened, you aren't getting vouchers etc. Best case scenario is that some mosdos will get more money but not enough to affect you

Don't worry government grants will still be coming in.
Doesn't mean tuition will go down.
Not till the big people get their cut of the action.
