- UENJ campaign urging the community to vote for tuition relief not endorsing any candidates ads and lawn signs across Lakewood
Assemblyman Ned Thompson Rep candidate for 30th district: Theonly way to get school vouchers in NJ is with a republican majority anyone that tells you otherwise is lying to you vote republican

- Arranged by the Rayman family, over 60 duffle bags of brand new toys were sent from Lakewood/Toms River/Jackson community to Israel for displaced children.
- Republican speaker nominee Jim Jordan said he hopes to be elected today despite falling short on his first two tries.
- From savejersey: There’s a mystery brewing in LD30, Save Jerseyans, the ordinarily safe GOP district where a Lakewood rabbi (Avi Schnall) is running as a Democrat and gunning for one of two Republican-held Assembly seats… Who is paying for Schnall’s campaign materials? Here’s what we know: The Democrat’s ELEC report was filed on October 10th disclosing only $100 in total donations (from a single Lakewood business owner) and nothing spent. That’s remarkable for a campaign which has widespread support from the politically-potent Lakewood establishment. Yet in the early October days preceding the end of that particular reporting period (October 7th), a political mailer dropped – see below – in the mailboxes of Lakewood registered Republicans according to a Save Jersey LD30 source. A “Paid for by Schnall for 30th Assembly” disclaimer is clearly visible on the left side:
- Signs in Lakewood shuls to extend shabbos by 10 minutes
I find it abhorrent that some of the frum media outlets I respect have come out so strongly against Avi Schnall. You may not agree with his idea to run, but bottom line is that he has the backing of the vast majority of Lakewood's rabbonim, as well as from the Moetzes (I verified this myself). If someone doesn't want to vote for him or they want to hock about it in the coffee room, I can understand. But two big media outlets, who generally echo the ideas of the Torah community, have actively taken a clear stance against him, and are publishing/posting every dumb "statement" from his opponent, who by the way, never said a word to the frum community until he was challenged.
ReplyDeleteAvi Schnall is a frum Yid trying to do something, with the backing of Gedolim. It boggles my mind how these news outlets are trying to undermine him.
Not every frum yid is doing the right thing. Norman Lamm was also a frum yid. And I don't believe the Moetzes is supporting his Hisgarus B'umos (I verified this myself).
DeleteThat's ANOTHER reason not to support Schnall. Look how much machlokes his running caused already. Do we need more of it if he gets in? I could have told you beforehand this would be the response to the Schnall campaign. .And I'm warning you now, if he gets it's only a matter of time untill he gets dragged into some controversial vote and drags the community in with him. It's not up to him what to vote for if he ran as a Democrat and expects them to give us money. They will demand his compliance with thier voting in return. People in the community will strongly disagree . Or agree if he is bringing in money. And then the bitter mochlokes will start R'L...
DeleteDid it boggle your mind when most of Lakewood voted for Ciaterelli against the rabbonim please stop with the daas Torah card when it is used in politics especially when everything is done behind closed doors and the average tax payer has no say to express their concerns.
DeleteThe same balei batiim preaching daas Torah fought against the roshei yeshiva and rabbonim or trying to shut down the LBA.
It goes both ways people choose daas Torah when it aligns with them and ignore it when it doesn't fit.
But let's focus on this election when we are following the mesorah and daas Torah that guided us all these years
To have Hakoras hatov to incumbents who helped why is avi schnall challenging a incumbent who was part of a team that voted for the LSTA that schnall takes credit for in a recent article.
What happened to hisgaarus b'umos that the roshei yeshiva and mesorah always guides us and now we are starting up with 20,000 republican neighbors for what?
Who is taking achrayus for this Sakana on us?
Some gedolim who don't live in Lakewood signed not knowing the local politics as the entire moetzes was forced to sign (verify it)
Does Avi shnall support the efforts of the Lawsuit to fix the formula
Who will shnall have more of an allegiance to Governor Murphy or the Lakewood youngeleit
Did we forget what happened during covid when the yeshivos wanted to reopen and they pressured against it.
This campaign is ignoring the serious concerns and poking fun with ads of widening rt 9.
Let them explain themselves like Ehrlich people and not try to fool everyone with a marketing campaign
DeleteRAV SCHACH
was asked when should the public disregard the instructions of a
RAV
He stated :drei mohl
If he/they struck out thrice, it's a proof he/they aren't entitled to offer instructions or recommendations
Many of those mentioned told people to vote Murphy
Many told them to vote Corzine
Etc
Etc.
Are you somebody of experience? We are
Are you a Johnny come lately?
Schnall has been a flop on so many topics.Still is.
My colleagues involved in '14 trying to stop Doctor assisted 'pulling the plug' in Trenton, could tell all of your buddies how counterproductive Schnall was.
Still is.
Unfortunately some of these “gedolim” have no experience in these areas - they aren’t qualified to be issuing directives for the community
DeleteThe oppisite is also true. The pro Schnall websites do not allow comments against his campaign . Of more relevance, for many decades what I was told is Daas Torah would in practical terms, negate Schnall running.
DeleteWhat kind of lights did Noach have in the teiva? Flood lights
ReplyDeleteWhat type of cake did he eat? Mahbul cake
I am voting for harold and schnall and "fix the formula". All the candidates challenging incumbents.
