DeleteShimmy Glick didn't 'choose' Reb Aaron Leib. Reb Elya Svei told him to go to Reb Aaron Leib. Reb Aaron Leib saw the churban of the Yated, and he requested that Shimmy Glick buy it out.
None of our Gedolei Yisroel applied for the job. Those that pushed themselves forward, found themselves outside of the pale.
