    1. The problem is that not all stores post their prices clearly on the shelves. I was unable to compare prices today so I bought whatever I'm used to buying. It would be nice to know if these items have such a wide range of prices for different brands.

    2. Way too expensive for moldy products, fresh and healthy, fresh and healthy and hatov are the same garbage. Buyers be aware.

  3. Typical marketing with adirei create the narrative that tickets are almost sold out and charge more then suddenly find a anonymous sponsor and cut the ticket price in half for rebbeim. They should drop the price for everyone and let the bochurim come

    1. Boycotting stores is not a yiddish thing but you could choose not to buy a certain product or boycott a brand until prices come down. More importantly look at the prices before you buy

    2. Boycotting a store is not a Yiddish thing, but boycotting a brand is? What's the logic?

    3. Very pashut, a store owner gets the product after the markup by the manufacturer and distributor and may not have a choice. If you target a brand it us not as financially hurtful but you send a message through a broader audience

    4. in my experience a few years ago I didn't find bingo to be cheaper overall. Yes on some products, but more on others. Did things change?

    5. I was thinking to create a program that pulls prices from all stores so that shoppers can compare specific products. If anyone has any ideas how to monetize this I would gladly create this program

    6. While it sounds commendable, in the long run it won't work. May stores have loss leaders which they sell for cheaper to get people in the store. If people only come for the cheap, the rest of items will just skyrocket

  5. The olam is actually rooting for the 6ers so there should be no bitul Torah.

    1. Am I the only one who just doesn't have the time or patience to attend "events?" Every cause needs an "event." I always think no one will attend since everyone is as busy or even busier than I am. Then I'm always surprised to see that these events are well attended. It's not only bitul Torah. It's bitul zman in general. Don't people want to just be home with their families? I do. When the OTD issue first came to public attention years ago, schools claimed that parents have to be home more for their children. We all have to attend family simchas, which are many B"H nowadays due to our large families ka"h. Those take up many of our evenings. Then the schools themselves and other mosdos schedule more "events." How do people have time and energy to attend all these "events?" So sorry, I don't.

  7. They don't want too many bochorim there, it's very simple, can't be too dry so they want some bochorim to sing and scream, but that's it. There's no shortage of seat because the venue didn't suddenly lose seats. They want people to sign up through their shuls for $360 seat. They want the Baal habatim to feel comfortable and not feel like they are at a being hazmanim concert. They also worry thay some percentage of bochorim won't show, and the place will look empty. And there's always the trick to make people feel special when their shul Gabbi gets them a seat for their kid and says "it's not really available but I was able to get you one."

      Maybe they have sincere motives?
Or is it easier to smear unnamed people wholesale? Where's the אהבת ישראל?

  11. It's possible Yeshiva Torah Vodaas bought it but the article says it was sold to "Congregation Supporters of Torah" That happens to be the legal name of the minyan that davens in their dorm and presumably uses their dorm address on legal papers but they are at least quasi independent from Torah Vodaas. They are more likely to be a front man (possibly for YTV itself) than actually buying for their own use.
