Marsh, a 29-year-old resident of Manchester, New Jersey, entered a plea of guilt before US District Judge Zahid N. Quraishi in Trenton federal court. Marsh stands accused of willfully causing bodily harm to five victims, attempting to kill and inflict injuries with dangerous weapons to four of them solely based on their Jewish identity.

At 1:18 p.m. on the mentioned date, Marsh forcibly removed a visibly identifiable Orthodox Jewish man from his car in Lakewood, assaulting and injuring him before taking control of the vehicle and driving away.

Later at 5:20 p.m., Marsh, driving a different car, deliberately struck another visibly identifiable Orthodox Jewish man with the vehicle, attempting to cause the victim’s death.

At 6:06 p.m., Marsh used the second vehicle to deliberately strike yet another visibly identifiable Orthodox Jewish man, attempting to kill him and resulting in several broken bones.

Continuing his violent spree at 6:55 p.m., Marsh, once again in the stolen vehicle, attempted to kill another visibly identifiable Orthodox Jewish man by striking him with the vehicle. Marsh then exited the vehicle, stabbing the man in the chest with a knife, causing a stab wound and additional injuries.

At 8:23 p.m., Marsh, still using the vehicle stolen earlier, intentionally struck another visibly identifiable Orthodox Jewish man in nearby Jackson Township, attempting to kill him and causing severe injuries, including broken bones and internal injuries.

- Property Tax increases coming to Lakewood residents as the township committee  proposes More than $100 million worth of township projects  from road upgrades to new playgrounds. The money will be issued by bonds which will cone from Lakewood taxpayers down the road.
Most of these projects are for the current development in Lakewood, contrary to the thought that adding more to the tax rolls brings down property taxes, the mayor tells APP the opposite 'More homes and construction means more need for sewer and water treatment, as well as streets, officials said. “Roads have to be repaired no matter what but the added infrastructure and the added people means they do not last as long,” Coles said. “Some of that has to do with storm water regulations in the state and federal government.”
APP reports, Mayor Ray Coles said the plan is the largest in township history but is needed to keep up with the population growth that has also sparked a development and building boom,. A previous article in Faanews said this will double the township debt currently at $78 million

Funding would include $37.9 million for road improvements; $29.5 million for stormwater and drain improvements; $12.7 million for playground upgrades; $10.7 million for new public works vehicles; $8.4 million for building improvements; $5.9 million for traffic signal upgrades; and $750,000 for the purchase of land for Patrick Park expansion..

- $7.2 Million upgrades to Blueclaws stadium. Lakewood township gets a total of  $175k lease from Blueclaws who dropped the name Lakewood and have a 40 year lease

Township leaders say most of the projects are needed in the wake of a growth explosion that has increased Lakewood’s population from 92,843 in 2010 to 135,138 in 2020, according to the U.S Census, which estimates it topped 139,000 in 2022.
“This has absolutely everything to do with the growth of the township,” said Township Manager Patrick Donnelly. “We want to be proactive because with the growth of the township, we need to maintain and upgrade our infrastructure. We have to do that.”
“It is a lot as some of these developments have gone up,” he said. “The neighborhoods used to be one-family homes and a lot of these developments have not had sidewalks and curbs.”

- Lakewood had the second most building permits issued in the state in the first 10 months of 2023, with approval for 1,477 new units approved, second only to Jersey City, with 2,010.

-- The Toms River Township Council meeting - which was being held on Zoom due to the heated atmosphere in the township over a controversial resolution - was abruptly shut down after a resident started spewing anti-Semitic comments during the session. (Onejerseyschorr)

Agudah statement on Chicago vote:
Mayor Brandon Johnson cast the tie-breaking vote to pass a city resolution that undermines the United States’ support of Israel and attempts to take away Israel’s autonomy to choose the most effective way to keep its citizens safe. Agudath Israel of Illinois is deeply disappointed with this development, as Chicago is the largest city in the US to pass such a one-sided divisive resolution.

  1. This 100 million borrowing is outrageous.
Not only did they bring in all of Brooklyn and priced the Lakewood youngeleit out of the housing market they are no passing the bill for all the new development onto the current lakewood families who can't afford to live in town. They gave waivers to developers who made huge profits and let off the hook from putting in curbs and sidewalks and are now forcing taxpayers to pay for those bills and the biggest slap in the face is that this committee all took huge raises for themselves up to 20,000 pay increase paid for by the poor lakewood youngeleit.
Shame on the Lakewood vaad and other town leaders who allowed this to happen
Shame on all those with financial gain and interest for allowing this to happen.
Shame that we allow Geneva and corruption to go on with people getting rich off the backs of the poor.
The Torah screams about this and speaks very harshly about these practices

How in the world does building more developments contribute to pricing out yungerlite??
Everything else you said is spot on but to blame more developments on yungerlite not being able to afford houses is simply illogical. There are a lot of reasons to stop the insane building but that simply isn't one of them.

    2. Imagine if the Oak and vine and other areas would have been developed for affordable housing for Lakewood youngeleit. Instead our leaders actively went to Brooklyn luring people to move to Lakewood while youngeleit were stuck in basements
Township Committee man went to BP to offer incentives to come to Lakewood

The chasidim have expanded to many towns in NJ NY and FL the Lakewood kollel guys and yeshiva community are left to fend for themselves

    3. There are developments larger than oak and vine for the non chasidim. Stamford Hill wasn't built for chasidim, but no one wanted to move there. Toms River mansions were at 450K not long ago, and no Yeshiva guys wanted to move there. Prices have skyrocketed all over NJ, and the price increases in Lakewood are mostly inflationary and not due to buyer demand.

    4. If you want to complain you need to be honest - the houses were marketed to the chasidim because Jackson was just starting to take off and the yungelite were not interested in the expensive duplexes at the time. What we should complain about is allowing houses to be built without any backyards ( all kinds of variances) or the fake blocks by oak which btw only one block goes through to the 9!! and no playgrounds obviously the township will now have to fund free playgrounds for all the housing. Hershel Hershkowitz said it 20 years ago and no one believed him - more housing = does not equal more revenue. Ask around and many people still believe the township makes money of a new development! “What do you mean they pay 10k
      in property taxes etc..?”

Chicago Jews who have a long tradition of support for trash for elections..
should reap cheerily now what they have long sowed. Our askanim & journalists praise them as models..Trade away dreary stands of decency for bags of political goodies.
"I have known Brandon for some time; he is a good person,” Rabbi Shlomo Soroka, director of government affairs at Agudath Israel of Illinois told JNS.

The frum community clearly stood behind Vallas not Johnson.
Not sure what your goal was but clearly fake news.
Oh and btw, Chicago voting for a cease-fire = Nobody cares.

  3. Selling all the development to chassidim does make it impossible for yungeleit to buy houses and there is one realtor in particular who started it all. Hv you could post this comment, it doesn’t collide with your agenda.

    1. So just to clarify your problem is not the developing rather that the developers should be discriminating against chasidim???

      Delete
    2. The number of houses developed for chasidim is less than those for non chasidim. That's the facts, but your blind hatred towards chasidim doesn't let you recognize it. You cannot blame Imperial for that, they sell and market to whomever wants to buy. The marketed Stamford Hill and no one bit, so they went to Brooklyn.

    4. Was it the fault of agents blockbusting in CH,East NY, Brownsville?
Of course it's their fault. They made themselves into honchos, they betrayed the town who made them something. On the backs of others..Is that the purpose thos gluttons came here originally ?

  5. The developers are allowed to make money, they are allowed to request variances.

It was the job of the planning committee, the Zoning Board, and the Township Committee to ensure that the needs of the locals came first.

Stop blaming the developers, blame those that gave them what they wanted.

  10. What's with this antisemitism against our brothers and sisters "The Chasidim"?? I'm a lifelong Lakewood Yeshivaman. I too have lived through a vast change in this town over the last 25 years. Change is inevitable. If our brothers and sisters "The Chasidim" found it a desirable town, how is that a bad thing?? If it's not to your liking, you are free to move anywhere. Again, I miss the Lakewood of old - and therefore what? Did "we" (litvaks) have a monopoly on it? You need a good look of self-reflection in the mirror, if you think your destiny was affected badly by the "scary Chasidim"
