Hamas says over 50 killed in Rafah amid heavy fire, IDF says ‘many terrorists killed
- IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari offers details on the rescue of hostages Marman and Har. “The IDF and the Shin Bet have been working on this operation for a long time,” he says. “Conditions were not ripe to carry it out until now, and we waited for them to ripen.”
He adds: “Reaching the target in the heart of Rafah was very complex.”
“Forces clandestinely arrived at the target at around 1 a.m., and carried out a very complex action on the premises and the second floor where the hostages were held.” He says preparations included “backup, a major aerial envelope, and intimate intel.”
Forces then broke into the building through a locked door and exchanged fire with gunmen in the building and in adjacent buildings, while extracting the hostages to armored vehicles.
“There was intense firepower from the air. Fire was opened from nearby buildings. The Air Force struck intensively there,” he says. At the same time, the armored corps also provided cover for the extraction.
Hagari says “many terrorists were eliminated tonight in this action,” including at least three in the building where the hostages were held.
One soldier was lightly injured, but beyond that, no Israelis were hurt.
“The entire operation lasted about an hour from start to finish.”
So sad - we freed 2, but lost 2 soldiers fighting..
ReplyDeleteI'm sure Hamas is an absolute pleasure for them to negotiate with??!!
ReplyDeleteBiden is frustrated that the Jews don't just bare their throats to the murderers. He wants to force the despicable hostage exchange cooked up with allies like Jordan and Egypt . Shain zet mir ois!
ReplyDeleteIn all fairness Bidens original staunch suport for Israel is why he is being turned against by his own party. Now he is trying a balancing act to appease his base but all its doing is making him lose support from both sides... The fact is if he loses the election, it is because of his support for Israel.
ReplyDeleteHe was down in the polls beforehand. He went up during his early support for Israel. Then it switched.
ReplyDeleteAccording to this NBC graph his numbers have only been tanking since the war.. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/presidential-approval-tracker-how-popular-joe-biden-n1277509
DeleteCome on we're stiff neck people no one claims we are easy to deal with..... Besides that netanyahu is only worried about getting reelected this whole debacle doesn't make much sense militarily he hasn't got really far and the end is not in sight . Without some sort of deal as much as chamas gets destroyed they will recoup their losses if Iran keeps on supporting them. It's not a matter of catching sinwar who is easily replaceable it's a matter of getting Iran out of the fight and It will not happen militarily it's going to have to be done diplomatically. And that means concessions possibly painful concessions.
