- NJ.com reports Largest yeshiva in U.S. to buy 42 acres from N.J. Catholic university for housing. Beth Medrash Govoha board chairman Howard Friedman called the deal “a great next step for the future of Lakewood.”  A spokeswoman for the Catholic university declined to disclose the amount of the sale. “All the legal paperwork has been signed, but this will not happen overnight,” the spokeswoman said in an email. “There is a multi-year plan that includes a phased-in approach to the transfer of ownership which is anticipated to begin this summer.”
