  1. If you read the "exemptions"...one of them is - owner occupied house with less than 4 units. So almost all basement units are exempt from the rent increase caps.

  2. Why would the committee members abolish the rent control board? It is extremely necessary. If they had one before they obviously realized it was an important local government function. I heard that a powerful landlord was unhappy that his tenant took him to the board over a very wrong practice, so he arranged to have the Mayor shut the board down so he wouldn't have any trouble. But in the meantime, thousands of mishpachos are left without protections.

  3. I completely agree and it's very sad and it's also hard to get onto HUD which makes it 10 times worse. If you take away rent cap then I think you should have more availability for a program assistance.

This is absolute insanity! So the dev buys huge tracts of land for cheap, and then wants to charge regular Lakewood prices for Jackson real estate! What am I missing here?

    6. What is the "rent cap" you speak of? How will removing whatever it is make things better?

    1. Officially: Yes . They don’t check

BJ’s gas is low quality. BP has better gas worth the price difference.

    2. Officially Not. It is illegal in NJ to require any membership to be able to purchase gas.

  6. They can't have basement apartments in jackson, 900k is very overpriced compared to lakewood that you have (2) rentable apartments.

  8. For those who want to blame Biden for the gas prices

Read it slowly and you will see how the Republicans can whine and whine, but in actuality, Biden is not to blame for this price increase, and they are pumping as much as they can.

    1. Um Biden does not allow America to be independent. We don't need to pump as much as we can in other countries.
