At the levaya his son Rav Yitzchak Shaul Kanievsky was crowned as the New Rov of the Lederman Shul in Bnei Brak. The bittul Melacha was over with the conclusion of the Levaya. Police sources said over 800,000 attended the Levaya. B"H there were no serious injuries At least 37 people were injured in various incidents in Bnei Brak, according to Israeli media. All were treated on the spot by MDA staff, though 15 others were evacuated to nearby hospitals. Rav Eliyohu Mann was supposed to be maspid but he did not make it to the levaya from Canada.
