Segula: This shabbos Krias Hatorah from 3 Parshiyos

Kossover Rebbe
This shabbos  is parshas Tazria, Rosh chodesh and parshas hachodesh a rare occurrence when we  read from 3 different Parshiyos, those that have will take out 3 sifrei torah. A Special Segulah for Yeshuos has been publicized recently from the פרקי היכלות  written by the tannah Rav Yishmael Kohen Gadol, that during Pesichah of  a kriah from 3 seforim there is a special shaar in shamayim that opens up. The Gerer Rebbe the Pnei Menachem zt"l  would tell people in need of a yeshuah to daven during this specific time when the aron kodesh is open. He brings from the zohar that its an eis ratzon in general during pesicha but he adds specificly during shabbos chanuka and rosh chodesh when there are 3 seforim.

Others say there is no mekor for the segula mentioned in the pirkei Heichalos but rather there is an Eis Ratzon when you  open the Aron Kodesh.
Rav Elimelech Biderman (Be’er Hachaim, Chanukah, page 125) writes, “The Zohar (206a) teaches that whenever the Aron Kodesh is opened, it is an eis ratzon. We have a direct kabbolah from the Tzemach Tzedek, who heard from his grandfather, the Baal Hatanya, who heard from his rebbe, the Maggid of Mezeritch, who heard from his own rebbe, the Baal Shem Tov, that all prayers and
supplications that are uttered when the Aron is open will be fulfilled in part or in full. All the more so when three Sifrei Torah are taken out, many students of the Baal Shem Tov testify that at that moment the gates of compassion are opened and great things can be accomplished.”(Yated)

Other times when we lein 3 kriahs from the sefer torah is shabbos Chanukah that falls out on Rosh chodesh or parshas shekalim that falls out on rosh chodesh.

  1. I have found no early source for this. If anyone knows of ANY actual mefurash source other than sevara, then please share it. Thank you.

  3. Stop the Segulos!
Just בטל רצונך מפני רצונו, remember that He is in charge, and He has a plan for us. בידך אפקיד רוחי - He knows best and we are His minions.
At an עת צרה, we are supposed to daven, as the Torah tells us. So daven. Don't segula things, don't chase the wind and don't allow unscrupulous people to take advantage of your Tzaros. Daven to Hashem, slowly, clearly, with Kavana. Learn the Halachos of davening in שו"ע, so you know you are doing it right. Daven at the correct time, not בדיעבד. Learn נפש החיים for the Torah's perspective on how to daven properly. Learn some Mussar before davening to put yourself in the right frame of mind. Don't turn on your cellphone before שחרית, so your mind is still clear.
And most of all, keep far far away from Segulos, especially ones that involve money.

    1. Learn Mussar before davening? Where does that come from? Someones Sevara? Sounds Chasidish Style to me. You think you may have influenced?

    2. Regarding which Seforim to learn. Does it have to be Nefesh Hachaim or could it be Seforim that are more on my level?
Please reply to me as it's very important.

    3. Sir you forgot one very important point: and vote in Israeli elections for something called Gimmel! If not then you may considered an Apikoses worse than the frie police officers.

It may have something to do with the Sanhedrin and the Lishkas Hagazis being in Bnei Brak. I'm not sure though you may want to ask the guys behind Keren Hashviis for more info. (I'm sure the farmers know who to vote for if they want to see at least some of the money raised)

    4. Only a shallow ignoramus would think that learning Mussar before davening is Chassidish. It is a Mishna. Also it is a Gemara to not learn beiyun right before davening. Both of the above paskened in Shulchan Aruch.

    5. The Mishna says to learn Musar before davening?

    6. Wow! You have such a nice and pleasant way of conveying your points and theories!
It is evident from your choice of language when communicating with others that you REALLY learn Mussar!
I'm sure many now have Kinas Sofrim. I hope they can handle it. Maybe those Musar Seforim that you learn before davening can help them with that.

  4. One may not daven for specific individual needs on Shabbos. So its hard to understand how anybody, and a Tannah no less, could suggest such a thing- as the only time we see three sifrei Torah with an open Aron Hakodesh is Shabbos.

  5. Seems that the issue is that when we're all educated to keep mitzvos to avoid gehenim and get gan eden then essentially all of Torah is being turned into one giant segula ie we're keeping the Torah to unlock heavenly reward and avoid punishment. Ein lichu segulah gidolah mizeh. When all of Torah Umitzvos is reduced to shelo lishmah as in what's in it for me and how do I best manipulate God to get what I want then segulos en masse is just the next logical step. If we were to actually teach our kids to keep Torah because it's the truth as it is HaShems word and not focus so much on instilling fear of hell and anticipation of reward as the reason we do everything then I think you'd gradually see this kind of stuff get marginalized rather than the mainstream it seems to enjoy. Just my two cents.

    1. You're bringing out a very nice point as to what our purpose in the world is and what the purpose of knowing about Schar Voinesh is but I'm sorry to break the news to you the Musag of Schar Voinesh is actually written in happens Torah! Many times!
I hope you mention it at least twice every day as commanded by Hashem.
Blaming the issues that Kupat Hair brought upon us on Hashems written words and path He gave us is going down a dangerous slope

    2. And yet that is not what we should be emphasizing , it is more of a consequence that occurs if you go in Gods ways or not -- see avos 1/3:

    3. And yet the Rambam says that chinuch starts out with an emphasis on S'char V'onesh.

  8. Rav chaim kanievsky is quoted that erev rosh chodesh Nissan is eis ratzon to daven for parnassa

  9. If we focus less on heaven and hell as the main motivation for doing Torah umitzvos in other words what's in it for me which inevitably leads to viewing religion as one giant gumball machine and how do I best manipulate God into giving me what I want and instead emphasize keeping Torah umitzvos because it's the truth as it is HaShems will then I think this logical progression of segulas would get marginalized because as it stands now with the heavy emphasis on shelo lishmah and disinterest in antigonus' famous dictum in avos then ultimately folks end of viewing yahadus as one giant segulah

  10. Aha so you listen to Hashem and refrain from doing against his will only to be saved from Gehenom?
Gehenom is meant to cleanse you and and the knowledge of it now is meant arouse you and keep you on guard. That is NOT the goal.

    1. You misunderstood what I was saying, I'm saying to do it because it's His will, not because of schar/v'onesh.

  11. Why is there a mitzvah to read the second Perek of Shma every day?
According to some it should be eliminated. We should just know as common knowledge that there are consequences but why the daily double reminder?

  12. The Torah is quite clear that the purpose of our life in this world is to earn Schar in the next world. The Messilas Yesharim starts his Sefer with this, the Mishna states clearly עולם הזה דומה לפרוזדור בפני העולם הבא.
Everyone always knew this, it was a basic part of Judaism.
Until a certain sect arose, and in order to keep their sect going, figured out how to denigrate others by claiming, "Meh, those guys are all שלא לשמה." Reb Chaim Volozhiner told us what their 'reward' for such speech will be. They removed Mishnayos from Shas and Ramchal from the world of Jewish thought.
Now they can pat themselves on the back and tell themselves that they are right, and all those people are a bunch of שלא לשמהniks.

The problem with Segulos is because עולם הבא is not עולם הזה. A person who does things for a better עולם הזה is misfocused. A person who does things for a better עולם הבא is perfectly focused. He is focused on the right things, not the wrong ones.

Funny that all of the self-righteous people over here have that simple confusion between עולם הזה and עולם הבא.

    1. Reb Yid I think you're not understanding.
Only if you learn Nefesh Hachaim are you considered a learned and informed Jew. If not, or if you learn other Seforim instead, then you're a nobody and got it all wrong.
      Farshteist?
I hope it's all clear now.
