- OCHD updates covid cases since last week Tuesday

- 39 new covid cases +3 deaths in Lakewood totals 23766/372
- 32 new covid cases in Jackson totals 12581/141
- 86 new cases +2 deaths in Toms River totals 21341/427 

- LPD releases statement to local media on car accident no mention of speeding: Investigators determined that a 2012 Infinity G37 operated by 23-year-old Alejandro Huerta Arias of Lakewood was traveling north on Route 9 when a 2008 Chevy Impala was attempting to make a left hand turn on to Courtney Road The Impala, operated by 32-year-old Mark Mandel, also of Lakewood, turned in front of Mr. Huerta Arias. As a result the two collided causing Huertas vehicle to strike and disable a nearby traffic signal. Due to significant damage, Heurta Arias was unable to exit his vehicle and was subsequently extricated by Lakewood Fire Department and EMS personnel Once removed, he was treated on scene for a leg fracture. He was then transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center for further evaluation and treatment Although life saving measure were attempt by on scene personnel, Mr. Mandel unfortunately succumbed to his injuries while still on scene just before 8:30am

- BDE: Victim of the fatal accident on Route 9 this morning has been identified as R’ Feivel Mandel Z”L, a Lakewood yungerman. He leaves behind a wife and five children. He was 33. R’ Feivel was originally from Brooklyn, a alumnus of Yeshiva Torah Temimah. Levaya is at 4:30 pm at the 7th Street Chapel in Lakewood Kevurah in Floral Park Cemetery, Deans NJ

- Serious accident at Route 9 and Courtney this morning in Lakewood Madison Ave  closed in both directions one patient in traumatic arrest and passed away R"L another in critical condition taken to hospital.(LNN)

- Meron closed authorities cut off the electricity to the building at the kever Rashbi in Meron a day before 7 Adar when many go to daven there due to safety concerns. The Toldos Avrohom YItzchik rebbe instructed his chassidim to travel to meron and  protest against the closure

 Beginning today, March 9, Israel’s Health Ministry has added a new requirement for tourists entering the country. They must hold an insurance policy which explicitly covers Covid in Israel. This can be a letter from an insurance provider stating that one’s policy covers Covid, even when traveling abroad, or a travelers’ insurance policy which specifically states that it covers Covid. It is not yet clear if, how or at which point of travel this requirement will be enforced. (Chaim vchessed)

  6. The Gemara tells us that a Yid who is killed by a Goy, under any circumstances, is to be considered a Tzadik. And the Gemara is not talking about Bnei Torah who learn and treat others as they are supposed to. Kal Vachomer when it is a Yungerman like that.
    I didn't know him, but I am jealous that Chazal (and the possuk in Tehillim) called him a Tzadik.

    Did they have corona?
    Were they vaccinated?
    Did they wear a mask?
    Any details other than numbers please?
