    1. It's wrong. And if you don't understand, I hope you won't need some Arab to explain it to you.

    2. Its only wrong if you subscribe to the fact that Israel represents the frum jews. If you don't subscribe to that, then unless you are doing it in public and causing a chilul hashem there is nothing wrong with it. Would you be saying the same if they force all the bochurim into the army?

    3. There may be nothing wrong with burning an Israeli flag per se BUT it is very unhealthy b'ruchnius and even b'gasmuis to be so consumed by hate for a specific group that you think a public burning of one of their symbols makes sense and is productive behavior. Even if you believe all the rhetoric about the "zionist idol" blah, blah, blah go find some other avodah zora to burn. Not that any gadol does or did that either.

    4. They're not burning it because of being consumed by hate. It's a public declaration of your unwillingness to let people believe that the modern zionist state of Israel represents your interests to the world. Unlike your hate towards those that don't see it your way.

    5. They're burning it because of being consumed by hate. Normal people do not make public declarations of their beliefs about other groups. Let alone in such a manner. Only people consumed by hatred do.

    6. We burn chometz symbolizing destroying the yetzer Hora
Tumah and avoda zara are burned too
We have a mitzva to destroy and hate Amalek.
The zionist flag burning is akin to those things

    7. The college kids who burn the American flag, the Muslims and the kanoim who burn the Israeli flag are all people guided by the same emotions and motives. Ditto for those who graffiti “black lives matter” and those who graffiti “Yehudi ainoy Tzioni” etc. It’s all the same (unhappy and angry) mindset and motives. No matter what the reasons given are. Stay away from those people.

    8. We burn chometz symbolizing destroying the yetzer Hora.... Um, no we burn chometz because of the mitzvah of tasbishu. It is a machokes in the early achronim if there is a mitzva to get chometz to burn Erev Pesach if you don't have any already. Everyone agrees there is no mitzvah to look for the other items mentioned in the mishna in Temura that are either burned or buried. And an Israeli flag isn't mentioned in that mishna . Nor does it meet the criteria of avodah zora as described in the Gemorah and Rambam. Don't make a new religion out of your hatred for Zionists.

    9. Had the the flag been around then, would they have stated to burn it

    10. Right. Chazal took instructions from people on hefkervelt about what to burn or bury. Do you think the Tzedukim had no symbols back then ? Give me the EXACT principle mentioned in Chazal that causes you to believe the flag would have been added to the Mishna. Otherwise it’s you telling chazal what to do. Not listening to them. IOW creating a new religion based on hatred of Zionists

    1. No secret that Murphy is not only an idiot, but an anti-semite as well. The only reason this doesn't disappoint me is because I hold him in such low regard. I didn't always feel this way about him, but he makes it impossible to respect him. He is consistently on the wrong side of every issue. He has single-handedly wrecked NJ and we are all the worse for it.
He better hope he never runs for national office. This statement of his will haunt him forever. Americans are not this clueless. Other than the bums in Dearborn, the rank and file know what Hamas is all about.

  7. He didn't fall, his was sent away because he challenged chuck schroomer on abandoning Israel. Dem party has strict marching orders to abandon israel. You see plenty more politician who know what good for them, and stab Israel in the back. Let's see how long before sen. fetterman is "given the message"

  8. Sorry to be the pouring of cold water but Joe L. wasn't much of a mentsch. & his values were near horrendous.People have imbibed the kool aid.
eg He was an original instigator in overturning "Don't Ask Don't Tell" which then began the massive astonishing snowballing into everything ongoing that followed

    1. He literally wrote the book on Shabbat. https://www.amazon.com/Gift-Rest-Rediscovering-Beauty-Sabbath/dp/1451627319
Was known as the "Conscience of the Senate", and had no problem to loudly voice his morals, whether the other senators liked it or not.
Had a deal with Senate management, no important votes on Shabbat. They gave him a Shabbat apartment if he'd need it (he wasn't a rich man when he started.)
I know one, maybe more, daughter made Aliyah to Israel. All children went to yeshiva, including post High School.
