  1. Kollel cheshek shlomo is running a terrorism campaign. The neighbors aren't stupid. But in the end the board will give them everything they ask.

    1. Why would you concern yourself with Avi Schnall and tuition relief when the whole future of Lakewood is now being determined. What a bunch of cowards in this town to get all excited about him bringing in a couple million dollars at most when the Senate Leadership, DOE and Court are focused now on Lakewood and state funding for the district. Your homes; value at $500,000 or $250,000 might well be determined because no one is going to be able to afford the local tax levy is this matter is not fixed. And all of you just talk about vouchers and send back the BOE incumbents as if nothing HUGE and HISTORIC is happening.

  3. What happened to דרכיה דרבי נועם why would a mossad Hatorah put out such ads and resort to such behavior

  4. Exactly!! This mossad claims to be a higher caliber institution. Only the best of the best can get in. Is this how the best of the best act????? Definitely not a role model. Shame on all those involved. Total embarrassment to Torah scholars!

Base interests created a 'yiddishkeit' war against a person who revolutionized Chumash Rashi for the world. The question is, can we say ידינו לא שפכו את הדם הזה? Did we protest those that signed tzetlach against someone, with no thought to the truth and the person's feelings?

    ReplyDelete

    1. Many did protest these false kol koreis, I being one of them, realizing how amazing and beneficial his chumash was (and is!); but once these so-called kana'im sniffed blood, they never had enough of it and kept going, despite R Shlomo Miller, R' Avrohom Gurwitz and others lauding its importance in glowing terms

    2. One of the signers of one of the Kol Kores claims, to everyone who asks, that he only signed because of the kavod of the other signers, and his name was never really necessary.

I wonder if he ever came across a Mishna that teaches us העניש הכתוב על הנטפל לעוברי עבירה כעוברי עבירה. In Shamyaim, they will remove his kapote and shmeiss him for fighting against the Torah, writing nonsense, and hurting Yidden,

    3. He damaged our whole value system. But so would you, just for a bowl of lentils- earthy interpretation pulling down everything lofty to your low levels

    4. Practically every person who signed it said the same thing: they never actually looked at the Chumash but relied on the one who started the campaign. And because of all this falsehood, the Chumash "Peshut shel Mikra", which was a best-seller for the seven years of its existence, and rightfuly so, is tragically no longer available in stores. I don't know how these people sleep at night.

    5. False again.R A Feldman went through it.
Furthermore we have here several fine deciphers who are very disturbed by it

    6. All the so-called ta'anos against the Chumash are pure devarim beteilim, as was proven over and over again, which is why almost all the chosmim, who never even looked at it, regretted signing against it. The whole clamor against it is rooted in Eitz politics and was carried forth by their supporters in the US. This is the greatest sheker I've ever seen in my adult life, and I've been around for a while.

  7. I just don't understand why this town keeps reelecting the same BOE. That have gotten us into a huge amount of debt and do not do their job. What gives? I put up candidates last November and they only got 20% of the vote. A Lang

I am not releasing the DOE report today but, I would like the oilam to know what the experts found concerning governance:

    • Board Meetings. Public Board meetings practices do not align with practices of
comparable districts or follow recommendations from the New Jersey School Boards
    Association.

    • Board Policies. Board meeting agendas contained policy updates and new policies;
however, there was no policy discussion during any of the observed meetings. There
are outdated and/or ill-informed policies that directly impact student learning.

    • Financial Transparency. Board involvement with budget development was reported
to be minimal. There were no observed board meetings that discussed financial
issues or presented detailed information regarding budgets. There appears to be no
urgency or accountability for the District’s financial situation by leadership.

    • Board Attorney. The Lakewood Board of Education attorney plays a far more active
role than the typical board attorney in District business. The Board Attorney stated
that his role is not only Board Attorney, but he also provides the District a service like
a Communications Director. Lakewood's legal expenses per pupil are significantly
    higher than comparison districts.

    • Culture. A culture of low expectations for students was observed, and high levels of
distrust between central office administration and school-based staff.

    • Communication. There are communication gaps from the central office
administration with both internal and external stakeholders.

    • Strategic Plan. The organizational management of the District is not based on a
coherent system focused on a District strategic plan. Without a strategic plan, the
District relies on a series of annual goals that lack accountability as they do not have
metrics that can determine how successful the District is in meeting their goals.
Several annual goals are duplicated from previous years.

    • Reporting Structure. The organization’s reporting structure does not follow typical
practice, as it is designed with many administrators reporting directly to the
Superintendent. The Superintendent has 24 direct reports, including all curriculum
supervisors, and there is no Assistant Superintendent.

    • Decision-making. Large-scale district planning appears to occur behind closed
doors. For example, the District changed the configuration of schools for elementary
and middle schools this school year. The grade configuration consisted of moving
hundreds of students and staff with little notice or explanation as to why the decision
was made. There was no discussion at Board meetings or opportunity to provide
    public input.

    • Human Resources Practices. The District reports struggling to hire staff to fill all
their vacancies each year. Lack of competitive salaries with neighboring districts was
cited as a key barrier, yet several current practices may impact staff morale. New
staff are hired at a higher pay rate than veterans and 77 teacher contracts have been
non-renewed in the past five years. School administrators reported frequent building
reassignments, with limited communication or notice.

    • Morale. Staff stated multiple times that the District has a morale issue. Staff reported
not feeling respected and fear retaliation from the administration if they speak out in
a critical way. Instances of unresponsiveness or unclear communication from the
District contribute to a perception of inadequate support.

  8. This wonderful talmid chochom of the highest caliber Rav Naftali Anshin zatzal did a great service to the Klal by publishing a chumash with Rashi that benefitted millions, explaining the pesukim beautifully and the Rashis splendidly. For many years not a single person had any issue with it, that is until some unscrupulous individuls with nothing better to do launched an unholy campaign against him that falsly maligned, denegrated and vilified his holy works, probably contributing to his demise. He will get his rightful reward in the World of Truth, where false, misguided kol koreis hold no sway. Yehi zichro baruch!

    1. Ignoramus.Just because you're new to our long experience with these types, keep the treife out.
He inserted paragraphs from your encyclopedia into the texts, cherrypicked the most maskilic interpretation when it so suits his inclination, but that's how you like it.

    2. I'm not 'new' to anything, and can in all liklihood mop the floor with you in any sugya in Shas. What 'encyclopedia' are you talking about?! You probably never even looked at it but are just trying to spew hateful nonsense. If you did and are unable to see through the lies and propaganda that fueled the 'kol korei' against this phenominal Chumash, if you can't detect the rotten agenda behind it, which seems to be the case, you are the greatest am ha'aretz in the world! I'll take the 'haskalah' of the Ramban, radak, Ibn Ezra, Ha'aemek Davar, Malbim, R' Hirsch etc., all quoted thousands of times throughout this chumash, over ignoramouses like you

      Delete
    3. You know nothing. There isn't even a remote hint of any form of 'haskalah' there. It's a very useful work that was squelched by a mob who had it in for this person and looked with a magnifying glass for every form of rediculous dikdukei aniyus mamesh to find fault with it. Why don't you provide us with some examples of this 'enlightenment'? You can't, because they don't exist. Period.

    4. Superb Hooty self promotion for an obvious ignoramus
Just a sample eg beginning of Mekeitz where he inserts his typography of Egypt as if it's from a religious source into the commentary. But that's probably way above your grade to tell a difference

    5. Nebach, you guys were incapable of living with the sacred traditional commentaries. It was way above you.
It should stay that way too.
Every class has some of those on the bottom.& Now need to pull everybody else who isn't so mediocre & our most cherished commentaries to where you phonies are.

When you have a personal agenda, it's always of course everybody else.

There are dozens & dozens mostly comparatively insidious but less sheer blatant

    9. Rav Gavreil kraus, a gadol in his nineties who was the memalei makom of the Minchas Yitzchak in Manchester, writes in a letter that although he'd been giving shiurim on Chumash for many years, from the moment he learned through this great perush "peshuto shel Mikrah" he realized that he had never learned Chumash properly. Anyone who actually learns from it -- la'afukei the fools who criticize it and never looked at it -- feels the same way. It's a great tragedy that "hitzliach ma'aseh satan." and nobody can buy it anymore. The campaign against it was complete and utter sheker gamur and people will burn for this!

    10. There nebach were many decent individuals without expertise in the subject lulled in past generations with tragic consequences. So sad, though we've been here before unfairly forced to fight over & over spinning the same thing. Anything has changed?

    11. He made a great likkut of the "sacred traditional commentaries," most of which you probably never looked at, because if u did, you'd have an appreciation for what he did -- unless you never looked at this sefer either, which would put you in the same category of practically all the signatures on the balony kol korei who admitted that they never even looked at what they were signing against, a travesty in and of itself!

    12. What a wonderful peirush it was.

The anti-PSSM people wrote kuntreisim to explain their position, and none of their claims held water.

But when we found out where the fight began, everything made sense. Harav Anshin hy"d had a staff working with him, and one person wanted a job. That person was deemed not good enough, and did not receive the job. His revenge was - an international fight against PSSM.

Because you never knew this Torah before he informed you (or before he informed the enlightened fellow you heard it from), you deem it 'haskalah.' ch'v. Afra lepumeichu!

Hmm since you guys keep harping this over and over. I learned the Ramban on Bereishis 17 years ago. How about yourselves? How about?

Note: Whenever the author puts in bold his preferred peirush itself rather dubious, he invariably chooses the out of the box prosaic over the traditional loftier commentary

    1. But they came out against the peshuto shel mikrah part, which, for as anyone that actually looked at it and uses it knows, is an outstanding perush of the words of each pasuk, unequalled in clarity and based on gedolei rishonim and achronim; and not a singly word of 'haskalah' ch"v. The entire clamor against it was completely unfounded and pure slander by troublemakers. Because of them all future doros will be deprived of this outstanding and very necessary contribuiton. [Incindentally, Oz Vehadar company did the same thing called Mikra Meforash (which is not nearly as good), but nobody came out against it. They had a personal vendetta against Rav Anshin.
