  1. Somebody must shut down these muscial Hallels. Why doesn't anyone speak up? There is no place for it and it is not according to any Mesorah, besides for Reform and Conservative, that is. Mordy's Shteibel and others like it need to be shut down, once and for all, unless they shape up.

    1. Can you please provide a source for your comment. Where is an issur found? If it because of bechukosayem lo selechu so what about a shul with stained glass windows will you break them? Or is it because an orgin and is guitar the same? What about maybe did it disturb the daven or maybe it inhanses ? Did someone you know get disturb with singing shira to hashem ? Don't we say gila rina ditsu chedva simcha what's all that?

    2. There was a musical kabbalas shabbos in Prague in the 16th century, well b4 the advent of reform . .

    3. Both anonymous responses must have listened to the same shiur on YU Torah as I did on the topic because the proofs they (he?) is bringing that there is no issue are being given in the same order that that shiur did . Left unsaid is that the one to initially bring those proofs is the Shu"t melemed l'hoyal but he REJECTS them. As do other poskim who mention them. As a certified kal sb'kalim who frequently listens to YU Torah when he works, one of my gedorim is that if even on YU Torah they oppose something (as is the case with musical hallel) I won't be the one defend it.

    4. To you the anonymous poster:
We learnt this Sugya in bmg and the rabonei hayeshiva gave us a chaburah on this topic and I have the recording if you want but I won't provide it to a naysayer. So much for your yu torah instead it's bmg torah that we learnt.

    5. Let me hear the recording. The Rabonei Hayeshiva in BMG don't give chaburas on things like musical hallel, I've never heard them mention seforim like Melemad L'Hoyel (they aren't such history experts to know that ONE of the nine shuls in Prague in the 16th century had a musical kabbalas shabbos to mention such a svora on their own) and unlike you they certainly would not mention a rayah he says but rejects without making it clear that he did so.

    6. Poretz geder would apply here. Even if that similar something might had happened centuries ago in a different environment in a different clime in such different circumstances eg the amount of anti-jewish regulations extant then there that music may have been needed though frivolity was frowned upon way more than now, would render any similarities to there akin to comparing horses with brontosaurii

    7. Halacha always provides for singing during Hallel. I realize Litvish oppose such singing, chassidic siddurim specifically require singing during Hallel.
Do you do "hoiche shmona esrei" regularly? That's against halacha.
Do you say yizkor on yomim tovim? There's no mesorah for that. Austritt gemeinde do not say that (they do know, cause of (good) intermarriage.)
Austritt gemeindes also do not say Kol Nidrei.
Did you say yotzrot yesterday? There's no mesorah for the convoluted way litvaks say it, at the end of tfillah.

      Nothing wrong with musical Hallel.

  2. This schnall voting bill is a bunch of baloney. Lakewood had a full week of early voting. The asskanim pushed the community to vote for schnall non stop. The day of elections the adirei schnall team panicked and bullied all the Yeshiva guys to go and vote at the end of second seder that's why there were lines.
Let him put the tuition bill and stop with all this nonsense

  3. 5 million and not one penny going to all Lakewood residents to lower taxes or widen route 9 it is all for special interests who use the Lakewood voting block for themselves. Can we know who is getting the 3 million for senior center?

Chris Smith ought to meet with the Lakewood residents directly and not with some self appointed askamim who promise him votes and them arrange to receive all these grants

    1. Hey silly anon at 7:27,

The federal grant of 5M cannot be used to lower taxes. And even if they’d allocate it towards widening route 9, we’d still be short another 495M, so that’s another useless idea.

Why don’t you go study the grant’s guidelines, and if you still want to kvetch then contact the people in Washington DC that are in charge.

    2. If the selfish self appointed askance would have advice for the Lakewood community at large and not for themselves, they could have gotten Chris Smith to arrange grants to widen the 9.

You can put money down on which askamim are involved on the receiving end of the Chris Smith grants.
Asidin Litein es hadin for abusing the public bloc vote with gneivass daas telling us who to vote for

    3. Leave my senior center alone. Been waiting for such a concept for quite a while

  4. Chris Smith has been used by the well connected to pay for their pet projects
Does anyone remember how he git millions to help alleviate traffic in Lakewood and got funding for millions for it no he didn't widen the 9 it will be going for the new road in the Georgian Court property for 600 new apartments
Our leadership has used us and sold us out.

    1. Actually, it came over Shabbos

    2. Financial matzav seems to be doing fine. It's just being directed to some clown in Israel who is spending millions buying people i-phones, brand new cars, and giving out gift cards like Santa.

That fellow is taking in millions of what should be tzedaka money. Somebody should publicize the video of Reb Dov shlita warning people not to give him money and how it is putting the Yeshiva in financial danger.

    4. I have the video, but I do not know how to share. The American sites b';davka did not post it. (Although they did post the letter which was mor vague)
