Tuesday June 14 News Updates Lakewood

- Lakewood Zoning board heard 2 hours of testimony last night on the cell tower application at GCU including a conversation ofon kosher phones that is used by a large percentage of the community  the public did not get to ask any questions as many neighbors came down to oppose. The hearing will continue on the July 18 meeting.

FAA News reports that zoning board members Mr. Glieberman and Mr. Gelley  recused themselves from the cell tower  application since they are also on the board of BMG which is in contrast  to purchase the nearby property from GCU. They sat in for the first hearing last month.

- The Jackson BOE has approved 24 bus routes for those school children The schools include The Lakewood Cheder, Bais Faga, Ohr Hatorah, Ohr Yehuda, Shagas Aryeh, Tora Zev, Bais Tova, Bnos Bracha, Bnos Devorah, Bnos Melech, Meoros, Talmud Torah of Lakewood and Even Yisroel. Many of the children in those schools will receive bus service from Jackson Township public school district. some buses may be combined with kids from several schools

  4. Zoning needs 5 votes because it's for a "use" they are recusing because they don't want to vote yes, so it's a cop out. But next meeting will have only 5 members, so it's one no vote and the application fails

    The Torah division will then have a claim to a religious exemption from regulations.
