BOE Meeting Budget Approval and Increase

Tonight the Lakewood Board of Education adopts the school district’s 2022-2023 The tax levy on Lakewood tax payers will be  $111,161,082  the total budget is  $333,383,869   and includes a request for state aid in the amount of $27,704,046.

The board attorney fee is going back up to  $750,000 a year for legal services. After it was anounced back in March to be $600,000.

The tax levy is a 2 million increase from last year no word yet how it will effect taxes.

 On the Agenda:

 Lease agreement between Our Lady of Guadalupe and the Lakewood Board of Education for the property located at 1141 East County Line Road, Lakewood, New Jersey  (Piner Elementary School) from July 1, 2022 – June 30, 2023 at a cost of $46,695.44 per month ($560,345.28 annually) 

Approve the payment to the LSTA on June 30, 2022 in the amount of $2,497,800.00 less any outstanding B6T forms that have not been provided to the District in the amount of $1,000.00 per missing B6T form subject to receipt of $1.8 million

  1. So Lakewood Township sold the public school on East 7th and Princeton and pays $560,345.28 annually instead. Can someone pplease explain how this helps our taxpayers?
