- COVID positivity rates in New York City have crept back up to late-January levels, as top doctors warn the city may be on the verge of a sixth wave of COVID-19 driven by the "worst version" of the omicron variant yet.

- Basketball legend Amar'e Yehoshafat Stoudemire was in Lakewood today visiting BMG and met with the Rosh Yeshiva R' Malkiel shlita

- Naftali Bennett will not run in the upcoming Knesset elections, the Knesset is expected to disperse and Yair Lapid will take over as Prime Minister until the next government is formed when new elections are held after sukkos.

- Ben & Jerry's will no longer boycott Israel, its parent company Unilever announced today, after reaching a settlement with the ice cream company's Israeli licensee. Unilever sold all of its Ben & Jerry's business interests in Israel to Avi Zinger, owner of the licensee, allowing him to sell Ben & Jerry's under its Hebrew and Arabic names throughout sovereign Israel and Judea and Samaria. The Ben and Jerry's in the US are still boycotting Israel. 

- Lakewood Strand theater leased for $1 year now up for renewal. However, according to the Industrial Commission's recent monthly bills, they pay over $9,300 in monthly property maintenance and utilities for the Strand building, and they collect under $7,500 in monthly rent from the residential tenants. - Heavy traffic at Blueclaws stadium area as busses head out to  sleep away camps.

- Several Lakewood restaurants offering father son one on one special for Thursday night with free cholent.

- Update:  The final hearing in SCHI founder Rabbi Osher Eisemann’s motion for a retrial of his case will take place on Friday, July 8th, before Judge Joseph Peone.

- Uman Rosh Hashana: Brelsov chasidim held a yom Tefila this week Sunday that they should be able to enter Ukraine and travel to Uman for Rosh Hashana. There's talk now that Ukraine will now require entry visas for those coming from Israel  and nixing the visa waiver for Israelis in response to restrictions on Ukrainian refugees imposed by Israel in the wake of Russia’s invasion.

- Food box updates while the state of NJ has yet to join the federal program, vendors say the box contents maybe different than last year and more meal based.

  8. There are 4 new minyanim on Shabbos in the new buildings outside westgate not under mafia control the Olam had enough and are making their own minyanim

  9. If you need a shul there are plenty right outside of Westgate. To name a few: Lutzk, Goldwasser, Cheshek Shlomo,
    Bais Pinchas and more

    1. They should use the Bnos Esther Malka basement as a shul. It’s certainly much better than their idea to put a big simcha hall there every night if the week.

      Please don’t complain about the rent. I worked hard behind the scenes to abolish the rent control board so things can be better than before.
