  1. Here are the instructions for your local Beis Hamedrash:
    Walk in.
    Take Sefer.
    Sit down.
Connect to Hashem by learning it.

Quite simple, no hitching, food, volunteers or color-coded busses necessary.

  2. It is sad to see how many farbissene mentchen there are, who are critical of everything - even when it has broad support from all

    1. Exactly. Couldn’t have said it better. As if all the kvetchers on here talking about just opening a Sefer are going to be doing that tonight. They’ll probably be on hefkervelt commenting on something else.

    2. What about you?
Going around prancing around one party or another with photo ops
And condemning those who have a problem

    3. Interestingly enough, those who are against this event explained their position clearly, and the answers were all personal attacks 'farbissene mentchn'.
      Nothing of substance.

We have still not been told what the purpose of this event is, nor who the speakers will be. Sheeple, get on the bus and don't ask questions!

Funnily enough, the greatest Talmidei Chachamim that I know, will not be attending. I wonder why.

Apparently you forgot the Gemara in Megilla 3b which puts kavod haTorah on the top of the list
Perhaps it would be worthwhile to work on kavod haTorah which would help you retain more of your learning

  9. Why do the yungeleit who got free tickets think everyone else is farbissen? We are very happy to stay home we would just love to know what this event is all about. Since you can’t explain it we will assume it’s what is pretty clear that it’s a big party to make balabatim who gave BMG a lot of money feel good. Is that why you are going?

    1. I am a Yungerman who was offered a free ticket.
But I didn't accept, I have enough self-esteem to refuse to contribute to my own bizyonos. Let someone else be mevaze me, but I don't need to help him.

  10. The idea, if I understand it, to honor the BMG yungeleit is a beautiful idea. We have to give them honor. Hope the message is not misconstrued by the offering of all the gashmiyas to the executive partners. The true executive partners are those learning. They should have the rack of lamb etc. The executives should have the kugel and sesame chicken.

    ReplyDelete
  11. The yungeleit don't need rack of lamb. They have מתיקות התורה!

    ReplyDelete
  12. Who’s getting the vip menu? I assume the yungeleit because this is all for their kavod. Something tells me not which proves what this is all about.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Who is the vip menu for?

  14. Everyone is confused like what exactly is the point of this event. But it’s obvious that it has nothing to do with the Yungerleit, rather it is just to be machazek the Gevirim and make them feel like a million bucks. When they see a big turnout, they feel like it’s worth giving away their hard-earned money. No serious Yungerman willl come back more Mechuzak from this event. If anything the opposite- he’ll be super tired and worn out tomorrow first Seder after listening to hours of speeches and coming home at 12am or later from todays event. It’s that simple

  15. Everyone understands what bike 4 chai lose for autism run for nothing etc means, but can't fathom a gather for kavod hatorah. That's the reason for the event tonight

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Right
Run for nothing, means that people collect money for a purpose that presumably needs money.
How do 'events' increase kavod hatorah? How does pulling yungeleit away from their Gemaros increase Kavod Hatorah? How does stuffing a stadium have anything to do with Torah or its kavod?

  16. Everyone I know is so busy. We have jobs or Yeshiva. We have families, immediate and extended. We B"H have simchas. We have school events, dinners, Etc, Etc. We are pulled in so many directions. Sometimes we just want to be able to live our routine lives, especially in the evenings. We want to go learn or stay home with the family, or sometimes we even have to work at those hours. Please don't ask us to attend another "event." Kovod Hatorah is wonderful and so are all the other causes, but please stop with the "events." They just cause more stress. There are so many creative ways people are coming up with for fund raising. Please stick to those and don't make any more demands on our time. (That's why I'm staying home tonight, even though I revere those who are sitting and learning and supporting the world.)

  30. The event was true kavod hatorah. The stress they made was more about the yungeleit than the machzikim. I'm a balabos and was proud that they got the kovod. It was a very ruchniyusdige event. My mesivta boy came and said he feels bad for anyone that didn't attend

  34. Music was too chasidish the Olam did not know the words to the songs and they expected youngeleit to be professional concert goers and kumzitz singers.

And in front of 20,000 people! Disgusting.

    2. Yeah right.. The Rosh HaYeshiva sent it on his own. And I have a bridge to sell you. Either way, the constant whispering and approval/disapproval faces by this fellow behind R’ Wachsman’s back as he was speaking was a total Bizoyin. The guy fought for that seat. At least act appropriately. Especially when 20,000 people are intently watching and the subject is Kavod HaTorah.

  39. Absolutely an amazing event!
The atmosphere was geshmak, the music was pumping although it could have been a bit toned down in the chassidishkeit.
R Malkiel was amazing. I'm not sure why R Dovid Cohen needed to be there, R Shmuel could have given a short speech instead and accomplished just as well.
R Efraim Wachsman hit a home run with his speech as usual. Pumped simplicity and learning over luxurious spending that it so common.
Siyum hashas and קבלת עול מלכות שמים made it a true maamod.
I walked out feeling extremely מחוזק.
Any of the "masmidim" who didn't attend missed out on something big

  47. The biggest kovod hatorah was seen when a great rov and Rosh yeshiva was seen sitting all the way up in the bleachers almost the most highest seat in the arena not wanting to be put on the dais. But then someone saw him and told him that he was asked by the rosh yeshiva of bmg to come down to the dais to which he replied im enjoying sitting here with the yungeleight and bochur experiencing kovod hatorah and limud hatorah. But after 30 minutes the person came back saying that the Rosh yeshiva asked again to which he replied then that mitzvah lishmaya divrei chachmomim is also a chiyuv

  51. As always, cynics will be cynics and find things to kvetch and comment on but as an attendee of this event, I must say I was completely blown away. The ma'amad was a true kiddish shem shamayim. The simcha and energy was palpable. Yes, there was a section with fancy foods and drinks for gvirim that gave money for this initiative and that is fine, but that was not the focus at all. The entire event was focused on uplifting and being machshiv what a yungerman does day in and day out. There was of course mention of the machzikei torah but that was far from the focus. The organizers did an excellent job putting together this beautiful event! Kol Hakavod!

Yes, there are cynics, but those cynics are those who think nothing of closing down entire batei midrashim for 'uplifting' times.

  55. Interesting observation. I almost didn't attend. I saw no reason to "waste time" and in general, I took a cynical approach although I did not voice my feelings. At the end, a friend convinced me to attend and am I ever glad that I did.
I, along with every other person that I know who attended, was uplifted and in a great frame of mind on the way home. Every person I've spoken to since has said that the event far exceeded their expectations.
Of course, those who didn't show up or those who love to bash all things BMG, will find things to pick on. They, however, are not at all representative of what actually transpired.

    2. I most certainly can. I was there with my sons. Some came early and some after 8. Everyone had plenty to eat.
The only facts are that everyone who went loved it. All the kvetchers stayed home and spread lies on the internet and you're from that group. Take a break. You will have plenty of other opportunities to spread your poison. In the meantime try getting out of your basement and get a life.
