Israel's Knesset to disband, Lapid to become prime minister
israel will be going to its fifth election in 3 and a half years as early as October 25, after Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and alternate Prime Minister Yair Lapid gave up their efforts to stabilize the coalition. In a joint statement, Bennett and Lapid revealed that they will bring a bill to dissolve the Knesset to a vote next Monday. Sources close to Bennett said their goal was to initiate an election on their own terms and not be forced out by opposition leader Benjamin Netanyahu

Charedim believe with the coming election especially if successful as hoped will be back to business as usual!
ReplyDeleteThe last year of government opened the door to a younger yuppie anti-jewish with a centrist facade running the show!
Unless the religious and their allies will be proactive with a bigger collective Outlook, instead of going back to smugly protecting their own crowd, sooner rather than later going forward this new style will be coming back to bite them even harder than this round was.
Once the genie is out of the bottle..
The mainstream Israeli will and do appreciate it when they do even with the screaming and intimidating of "k'fiya datit" [the singular exception are the kippah wearing north americans and brits who have been brainwashed thoroughly and swallowed it-and were a sizeable portion of the Bennet supporters]
DeleteThe above comes with the caveat - as long as chareidim remain mostly corrupt free and also avoid getting too lost in details
Don't know how a government run by Lapid for at least the next 5 months, or possibly longer until another government is formed, can be considered תעביר ממשלת זדון מן הארץ
ReplyDeleteNot that a Bibi government is not too a ממשלת זדון, albeit to a slightly lesser degree.
