  1. Wasn’t adirei hatorah all about kavod hatorah and no fundraising?

    1. I’m sorry but what a dumb comment.
The event was about kavod haTorah
And now they are fundraising. You want yungerleit to get a kollel check and they shouldn’t fundraise?? How should the money come? Fall from the sky? How much did you give this year for yeshivaleit?

    2. There is no greater kavod hatorah than paying yungeleit

  2. Wasn’t the increased check paid for already by some balabatim? I give more than you can dream of giving.

    1. The “check” is an ongoing commitment of over 50 million dollars annually so no it was not fully sponsored by “some balabatim” in it’s entirety, there is a need for fundraising. And just curious, you have no idea who I am ( as I have no idea who you are) so how can you say you give more then I do or even more preposterous that you give more then I dream of giving?
I dream of giving 100million a year, you give more than that?

  3. So it wasn’t just kavod hatorah? It was indeed a fundraising event? That’s what I thought but was told otherwise.

  4. How much do you want the yungeleit to get paid that you dream of giving so much? They are already from the wealthiest in Lakewood with all the programs.

    1. From the wealthiest? Lol
Take your head out of the sand.
Have you been to any of the local stores recently? There are some pretty high spenders (assuming/hoping that means they’re wealthy enough to cover the cc statement) in this town.

Hardworking middle class is fine, but it doesn't come close to the work of learning a Tosfos.

  5. They are better off than most hardworking middle class people

  6. I don’t have my head in the sand. I was a yungerman not that long ago and it’s a fact that after you add up all the programs they are doing better than most middle class people. Yeshiva guys think anyone that works is rich but that is not the case.

    1. A quick comparison of my lifestyle with a few struggling middle class people I know shows that while we are very grateful for the peace of mind we get from government programs, our lifestyles are not comparable in any area.

    2. You have no idea what your middle class neighbor has. Having been a yungerman and now working I know how much a yungerman has and many if not most are better off than their middle class peers.

    3. It’s great that you’re sitting and learning tosafos. I assume you write comments online bein hasdarim? I’m takka jealous of your lofty lifestyle.

  7. Are the seats sold out for the TAG English event? The website says "sold out". Here it says they are selling tickets in BMG. And the website, despite saying "sold out", still allows purchase of tickets?!

  10. How about having half a day kollel and half day work. No need to pay for kollel as any job of 3-5 hours a day would pay more than the $1000 a month. And they still have 8 hours a day they can learn.

  11. Because it’s assur to work. What a disgrace you want to send our yungeleit to the treif work where there is internet and texting!! You surely were not by adirei hatorah or you wouldn’t suggest something so ludicrous.

    1. It's assur to work? Wow. That might be m'galeh panim sheloh k'halachah - a far worse issur than you even imagine working to be.

    2. This was a facetious comment. He was creating a straw man.

No person who is Toraso umnaso says it's assur to work. He is Toraso Umnaso - right now he is a Yissachar. Yissachar, Zevulen and all others can get along very well. We each need to focus on how to do the job that Hashem with His hashgacha has placed upon us.

(While I wish I was in Kollel, I am not.)

  12. So how bad is the issur to work? It’s not from the gimmel chamuros?
