- Last night the planning board denied an application to build a cul-de-sac with 9 homes off 14th street out of safety concerns. Neighbors came out to oppose citing traffic safety flooding and other concerns and the potential 700 homes coming to pine Park golf course in a few years

- Fed hikes its benchmark interest rate by 0.75 percentage point, the biggest increase since 1994. Mortgage rates are above 6%

 - Jackson Township Council approved a resolution this evening to enter into a settlement agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) resolving the department's lawsuit alleging religious discrimination in the township's zoning practices. Under the terms of the settlement agreement, the township does not concede liability with respect to the claims alleged in DOJ's lawsuit and has committed to a series of actions to ensure compliance with all laws governing religious rights in land use and fair housing practices. More

- A new Florida law prohibiting abortion after 15 weeks with some exceptions violates religious freedom rights of Jews in addition to the state constitution’s privacy protections, a Reform “synagogue” claims in a lawsuit.

- Reform Congregation L’Dor Va-Dor of Boynton Beach FL filed a lawsuit against Gov Desantis who signed a new  law prohibiting abortion after 15 weeks that takes effect July 1. The suit claims that it violates Jewish teachings, which state abortion “is required if necessary to protect the health, mental or physical well-being of the woman” and for other reasons.

 - A research group counted more than 930,000 abortions in the U.S. in 2020. 1-in-5 children were aborted in 2020

  2. 'Reform Congregation' is less concerning than the fact that more than a few centrist modern rabbis have been vocally defending abortion on demand
