Other restaurant owners are suffering from the same problem. He pleads to parents to spend quality time with their kids why are they out for hours on end without supervision or anyone checking in. Why aren't you taking them out Thursday nights for cholent instead of letting them roam free with their freinds.

The missionary material which arrived at our house was addressed to our daughter, who has been married for many years and doesn't live with us any more. It seems to me that they got the name from some tzedakah organization who had her name from a long time ago. It's unfortunate that when one gives tzedaka, these organizations sell their donor lists to others. We've gotten used to that already. But when they're not careful whom they're selling to and the names get into the hands of missionaries, that's totally irresponsible!

DeleteCheder Bnei Torah is open
ReplyDeleteIf Bagel Nosh is open they too are open
Our boys are not tuna bagels, nor do we want them to become tuna bagels
DeleteSome schools actually invest in the children. Others, merely use Bagel Nosh cliches instead of teaching Torah
Deleteand there are some schools that not only dont invest in the children they wont even give bagel nosh instead
DeleteCan someone explain why in the world would a company like artscroll be selling unfiltered devices. I’ve heard from ppl that they had no idea it was not filtered.
ReplyDeleteFrom a company that calls themselves a Mesorah publication. Giving something out like that is irresponsible. For example Sruly Bornstein daf yomi devices are supposedly blocked from any internet access other than his shiurim.
Fake news
DeleteAre you saying that they sell them completely blocked?
DeletePetition organizers are saying that in less than 3 days they have 9000+ signatures asking businesses and mosdos to not advertise on news sites
ReplyDeletemaybe 90+ ?
DeleteLet's see the mosdos pull their chariiday fundraisers offline

ReplyDeleteHere's what I don't understand.
Sary's wigs don't sell wigs to Goyim, or to Modern Orthodox women. They are selling sheitlach to Lakewood Charedi ladies. If they had a business cheshbon to open an Instagram account, something that takes time, effort and money, their are obviously sufficient potential customers of theirs use Instagram regularly enough.
The TAG campaign of ten years ago seems to have failed miserably. Although many people did filter their machines, Instagram has also become a part of Charedi society. Newspapers write about people's Whatsapp groups and videos being shared, popular fiction includes young unmarried girls all over the internet, and money-making sites are geared to Charedi men. Obviously the campaign has failed.
Why are we trying the same thing again? Why aren't they learning from their mistakes? Shomrim cards, a scourge of our generation, have been shown to be useless and worse. Signs telling people to pretend they don't have smartphones by hiding them hasn't worked. Scary hyped up stories about divorces being thanks to smartphones haven't fooled anyone.
If you want different results, act differently.
Maybe you got a bad copy. Mine had it inside and it was extremely well written! Kudos to R’ Weisz!!
DeleteIn my copy of TVOL, Mr. Weiss' op-ed was featured on the front, but the actual article was missing. Why?
ReplyDeleteDid someone just say that they cleared 120 acres in Manchester to build some new housing ?
