  1. Aderet Offices (appeal # 4210) on Lanes Mill is back again for a Use Variance to construct a prohibited office building in a residential zone. The application states that they’re knocking down a shul to do this.

The other problem is that they are not giving nearly enough Parking spaces which will cause a traffic mess.

They're trying to trick the Board by claiming that they'll be able to arrange for more spots from the proposed Aderes Bais Yaakov school & wedding hall next door. But those facilities are a long way from getting approved by the various government agencies – and they’re still only in the early proposal stages – so there may not even be a parking lot there ever to be used by this office complex. Besides for this issue, the proposed number of parking spaces for the wedding hall (to be used after school hours) – even though it might sound like a lot – is barely even the minimum that applicant will need for himself. The Hall is HUGE and has an additional approx 4,000 square foot kitchen. The parking lot will lose at least several dozen spots just from the various staff servicing the Hall. The number of guests attending the hall will leave exactly zero spots for the Aderet office building’s employees. There is no way this “arrangement” can ever work out.

Regency development has fooled the Board in the past with this gimmick and it’s never worked out like they claimed it would. Instead, it’s always caused a messed-up situation for us drivers. They only care about making more money and not about the residents.

Keep the existing zoning intact. Vote NO to this application!

  3. The zoning board is scheduled to hear tonight an application to create new duplex lots on Chestnut Street. Zone is currently R-20, but the guy wants R-7.5 Application # ZB 4212.

As is, the Chestnut neighborhood is choked between route 9 and New Hampshire, both with heavy traffic. Vermont is closed. It is irresponsible to allow any increase in the density around the Chestnut area, without the required traffic improvements, per the master plan, which was enacted by the township committee which is currently on the books.

I hope that we don't need to take this to the next level. This is hazardous! . We hope that the zoning board will do the amicable thing and only follow the enacted governing rules which are required here.

    1. Oh please! Don’t you know by now that it’s not WHAT you know, it’s WHO you know??? Look at Westgate and what went on there. The shul was approved and then a lawyer was hired to fight it. That didn’t just happen in a coincidental bubble. Obviously there were people who were well connected...

  4. What happened to the yellow playset at sunset park? It was removed and the area was left full of tripping hazards. Will it be replaced?
