Special Segula for 8 Iyar that falls out on a Monday

The Mekubal Rav Eliyahu Mani Zatzal a contemporary of the Ben Ish Chai wrote that it is a special segulah when the 8th day of the month falls out on a Monday during the months of Elul, Teves, and Iyar. It should be conducted with Kedusha and learning.
Iyar is also a segula for refuah and healing Reb Pinchos of Koritz says that the rains that falls between Pesach and Shevuos is a great refuah for diseases that have no cure, rachmana litzlon. One should let the rain fall on their head and open their mouth to let the rain go straight in (some places say to the right side of the mouth).

    1. its not superstition. it just states that its a day that can draw kedusha. It does not make all sorts of vague promises. Aspiring for greater kedusha is not a bad thing and increasing your learning will be a zechus any day of the week or year!

    2. What about the part about letting rain fall on your head and opening your mouth for the rain? That's drawing kedusha? In which religion?

    3. That part is medication. You sound anti vax.

    4. Me? Anti vax? That's a joke. Anyone who knows me knows that I'm a very outspoken pro vaxxer and anti most alternative "medicine." This has nothing do do with medicine or vaccines or even reality. Sounds totally like it was just made up and soon it will become the biggest trend and a huge source of income for those selling bottles of rain to pour on your head.

    5. Exactly. So you believe in the religion called western medicine and vaccines and you can even fathom that rain water that Hashem sends down can actually be a refua even if you don't wear a mask and quadruple vaccinate yourself.

  6. How is this different than all the things the Torah assurs that run afoul of tamim tihiye? Do you believe these things are effective? If you dont, then you’re a fool for practicing them. If you do, then you’re also a fool for believing that; but do you then think HaShem wants you to manipulate Him into giving you what you want and what you think is good for you? What happened to teshuva tefilah umaasim tovim and leaving it up to Him to decide what’s best for you

    1. Yes I absolutely believe that learning Torah is effective.
And you, either you don't believe that and that makes you an APIKORES or you didn't even bother reading what the article says.
      Go back to sleep.

    3. He also says to let rain fall on your head and and into your open mouth. Did you read that part?

    4. Yes. That's natural health purpose. You probably don't believe in any natural plants or drugs. Only lab invented. Hashem created the world with natural cures in them. You probably never learnt Rabbeinu Bechaya

  7. Iyur is roshei tavos Ani Hashem Rofecha. That's all I know and that's why the rain that falls is mesugel to refuah. Why rain not sure but guess rain can be brocha and brings brocha.

    5. Anonymous 5:30 And Yechezkel Hanavi forgot about the Chasam Sofer when he wrote about It's a historical fact that these are names of pagan deities. It's one thing if the poskim say it's muttar to mention them (they appear in Tanach after all) but let's not pretend they hold some great sublime secret.

    6. They do. You just don't know about it.
Anything once it's mentioned in the Torah and has become part of Judaism has deeper meaning to it. Even if it sounds contradictory to your history lessons.

  12. Where is the basis for this yom segula in shas, possum, midrashim - anywhere from Chazal? Why is it that someone can throw something out there with no basis in mesora whatsoever, and everyone just rolls with it like it’s Torah misinai? Even in shas you have braisos where amoraim said maybe they were “mishabeshta” (erroneous and inaccurate) - and those braisos were from tanaaim! But since there wasn’t a careful transcription of those braisos with an ironclad mesora that KNEW the braisa to be accurate it was possible that it was mishabeshta. So why are we supposed to believe in some new concept that was UNHEARD OF before of the 8th of Iyar falling on a Monday WITH ABSOLUTELY NO MESORA OF THIS IDEA PRIOR TO THIS MEKUBAL THROWING IT OUT THERE? Somebody just comes up with something new because he saw it in a dream and all of a sudden it becomes Torah Yisroel?? That’s what happened with Shabbasai Tzvi and it was not good news for the Jews.

    1. This is not how Shabsi Tzvi started.
And if a big person says something then he has a Makor for it even if he didn't bother telling you about it.
No need to show off your stupidity. You can try to soun all frum in other things.
And just because he was Sapharadi and knew Kabalah does not mean he's a nobody and you know better. The opposite is true.
Before you reply to things with dibrei balah and chutzpah it would be advisable to first find out who the rabbi in the source is.
Talking about Makor in chazal, there are pretty scary ones that describe happens to people like you.

    1. What a shame you weren't around when Rabbeinu Bechaya wrote his perush on Chumash, especially when discussing the stones of the Choshen. And same for the Shulchan Aruch regarding Even Tekuma. If only you would have been around to "educate" our leaders the Rishonim, Achronim, parshanim and poskim.

On a different note, I'm very happy to have the Judaism of the above mentioned names. You can keep to yours and I'll keep to the Torah. Which is way more vast than you think in your narrow path.

We all know that we have make sure to remember what the ikar is.
But it is important to know that a we have to remember that a tafel although not an ikar is a tafel nonetheless!
