Monday May 9th News Updates Lakewood

 Weather: A mix of clouds and sun with gusty winds. High 63F. Winds could occasionally gust over 40 mph. Coastal flooding and gale warning still in effect for the area.

- Agudah writes letter to Lufthansa CEO demanding a meeting after Orthodox Jews were denied to continue on a flight. 

- You Tube & Instagram reinstates Dans Deals video of Lufthansa clerk.

- Rav Shaul Alter wrote to his talmidim that this year there is no reason a yeshiva bochur should stop his learning and travel  to Miron as Rav Shimon Bar Yochai is found in the gemara and also due to the restrictions those who have a minhag to go  every year may do so.

- Sens. Kristin Corrado and Anthony M. Bucco of NJ introduced a "Parental Bill of Rights." The legislation is designed to give parents more information about what their children will learn in school and expand their power to "exclude their children from lessons that conflict with their values," 

-Gas prices continue to soar Analysts say crude prices are unlikely to fall as long as the supply remains tight and oil cost remain over $100 a barrel. Average in Lakewood $4.47 a gallons

- Ocean County Sheriff Michael Mastronardy formally entered the race for chair of the Ocean County Republican Party today, setting up a potential showdown in June against former county chairman George Gilmore. “It has never been more important for us to have a strong Republican Party,” Mastronardy said in his announcement speech. “If we are going to fight back, win, and keep the country we love, we need to be united. We need to fight together – all of us. That is why we must unite here in Ocean County and why I am running for Ocean County Republican Chairman. (NJ Globe)

    2. They include counties for states like Virginia too. I am sure the study is not really interested in us but there is also no way to count the number of shuls in our kehollos.
