Giuliani Endorses Crispi in 4th District

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani has endorsed Mike Crispi for the Republican nomination for Congress in New Jersey’s 4th district against 21-term Rep. Chris Smith Giuliani will be in New Jersey on Monday to headline a Crispi fundraiser. NJ Globe reports

“Crispi has the courage to take on the worst of what Washington has to offer,” Giuliani said.  “He will protect our American values, stand for election integrity, and drain the DC swamp.”

Crispi’s campaign is being directed by veteran political consultant Roger Stone. Former President Donald Trump has not taken sides in the 4th district primary.

Chris Smith angered many voters after he  recently voted with Biden and Pelosi for the infrastructure bill despite being a Republican. Smith said he did so to better ensure the safety of the people in his district,  to repair and rebuild dangerous roads, bridges, rail lines, tunnels, lead-contaminated water pipes in NJ

However none of the funding was earmarked for route 9, the most critically needed infrastructure project in Lakewood and Toms River. There was no mention of it and surprisingly  missing from the list. Which calls into questioning by some "If Chris Smith was going to vote for it, the least he could have done was to bring some of it back to his district".

  1. Chris Smith has served us well for so many decades, bein really responsive to all who ask. Crispi may be more flashy, but we don't dump our friends like that. Guliani is not Da'as Torah!

  2. I am voting for Smith. From all the great things he's done he made one wrong move. You don't dump him for that. Everyone does a few things wrong. Look at the overall picture.

  6. Chris deserves our vote. We owe him Hakoras-htov for the many many times, he & his office have gone out of their way to help a constituent, myself included.

  7. Politicians bring home the bacon for their buddies the simple guy in the street who works hard gets nothing. There were several grants worth millions of dollars that went to Lakewood but if you follow all the press releases it is always the same 3-4 organization that get the funds and always have their hand in the cookie jar. They present themselves to the politicians as the ones who control the vote and represent the community. At the end of the day they are laughing all the way to the bank dropping some crumbs for the beggers. The out of touch politicians keep an greasing the wheels of these self appointed.
Should route 9 have been priority #1? Of course but the people who vote are not cared or counted for they are surfs in a game where power and money play vote out all corrupt politicos.

    1. Just be sure that you don't exchange the cracked garbage can for a cracked septic tank. Tread carefully. A decision based on anger doesn't bode well for anyone.

      Think this through thoroughly.

  8. Chris Smith has helped us for years, and Giuliani is on the other side. Two reasons to vote for Smith.

    1. Get rid of Giuliani for a start. He's the king of the swamp rats

  10. The blame for not widening Route 9 lies squarely on Lakewood Township’s amazing boards. If they were really serious about getting the State to widen the road, they never would have approved all the buildings that go right up to the road.
Do you expect the State to start tearing everything down?
Route 9 is a dead horse, it’s simply not happening.

  11. Rep. Smith is probably the only politician that is in touch with his constituents. His office will always go out of their way to help any individual that needs them
    He has my vote.

  12. No point in earmarking money for rt 9 if the state won't do anything with it. The state has no interest in fixing rt 9, it's been a problem for over 40 years, and the state just talks about it. Money is not the issue, Trenton has no interestnin fixing it. Same with education funding.

    1. Money is the issue and if funding comes from Washington it can be done. For some reason nothing was done and everyone is to blame Including our congressional representative

    2. Why are you sure that the new guy will somehow get two funding through???? You have no reason to think that he will. Worse though, is that in all the other areas there's no reason to think that he can be anywhere as good as Smith.

    3. Chris Smith has done for some powerful askanim but for the hamon am nada don't be fooled by the propoganda ads and photo ops visiting big shakers in Lakewood. The least he could have done was secure funding to expand route 9 and alleviate the traffic. But he's out of touch and in the swamp time for accountability.

  13. This isn't about Chris Smith. This is about national politics. Most people in Lakewood (other than a few askanim and connected individuals who mooch off public funds ie the swamp) follow national politics, and care very much for the MAGA agenda (whether the askanim like it or not). Chris Smith is not a MAGA republican, and he has shown this again and again (remember cap n trade? Look it up...)
Its not about this vote or that vote. Its about making a national statement to the Republican party to get behind MAGA. Now that Trump has his eye on Lakewood, there is a very big chance that he will endorse someone else, and it will be the best chance we in Lakewood have to make that statement.
Of course this is something that askanim don't understand. That's because they only care about their own selfish pet peeves. They don't care about national politics. They don't care about everyone else. They don't care about the direction of our country. The askanim will ridicule us, the little guys, and try to make you think that we're a bunch of dumb mindless ignorant peasants. But we're not. We're actually very knowledgable about the country we live in. The only thing we're ignorant about is how much money is in it for the askanim.
We don't know who Trump will endorse. But if he endorses anyone besides Smith, you can bet your bottom dollar that the askanim will move into high gear to discredit Trump and make you all believe that he doesn't really know how much Smith helped Lakewood (aka the askanim). But we know that askanim dont know (or care) how much Trump and the MAGA agenda helped the US, Israel, and the world.
    Pass the popcorn!

  14. Crispi called out lufthansa airlines when smith was silent. Then the next day after Crispi spoke, smith started doing something about it. Smith didn't want to offend the "mask crowd" and didn't say anything for a week until Crispi talked on day 4. Crispi deserves the vote as it's time for new blood. He will do just as much as Smith locally but be bold in our favor speaking more publicly. Smith has no power in washington- no committee chairs etc. 42 year career enough. Time to vote Crispi.
