Rabbi Zecharia Wallerstein Ztl

Matzav- BDE: petirah of Rabbi Zecharia Wallerstein z’’l. He was in his sixties. Rabbi Wallerstein was the founder of Ateres Naava Seminary for Girls and Ohr Naava Women’s Institute in Brooklyn, NY.

Over three decades in chinuch, Rabbi Wallerstein, with his trademark passion, clarity, and love, touched the hearts and souls of thousands of students from all shades of the religious spectrum.

Rabbi Wallerstein had battled illness for the last period and passed away this morning. He is survived by his wife, Mrs, Estee Wallerstein, their daughters and grandchildren.

The levayah will be held today, at 11 a.m., at Ohr Naava, located at 2201 East 23rd Street in Flatbush, Brooklyn.

  1. Rabbi Wallerstein was a very special and wonderful individual. He helped so many people, changed so many lives for the better, stood up for the little guy, gave hope to the downtrodden. He was an inspiration to me to give of myself to the klal, although never at his exalted level.

  2. Rabbi Wallerstein's many shiurim are available on different sections of Kol Halashon. I've listened to hundreds of them; they are inspirational and real. He was literally one of a kind in his concern for every Jewish child, his real, to the point talks, and his personal, open way of communicating the d'var Hashem. Its so very sad to see this news, but he would be the first one to say that we should have faith in Hashem's goodness and everything He does is good.

    There is literally nobody like him. Mi yitein temuraso.
