  1. I fully agree with him. Sad that a non religious Jew needs to be the one to come out and say this publicly. Not exactly a manifestation of chochmaschem ubinaschem lenei hagoyim. Should toeva stuff be introduced agav core topics, then we’ll only have ourselves to blame. Had chasidic and very yeshivish places taught the essentials I don’t think it would have come to this. Unfortunately the moderate litvish and mo places will all suffer as well should this end badly.

  2. so basically, we have two points in todays news.
one- that all teh rabbonim signed a letter in support of tuition relief fo the Lakewood families. a little further down we have the point from Michael Steinhard saying that yeshiva education is falling short.
what is see is that we are agreeing to sign away our children's education because if we take the money from the government you can be sure they will require us to teach climate change as the bullet point above Mr Steinhards chochma points out.
i hope we are not walking into the same mess that NY State yeshivos are finding themselves in.

    1. What is the big problem if they teach children about climate change? WHy shouldn't they learn about things that affect them?

    2. Since it is more than just protecting our environment and and showing value to the ecosystem. Which if that all it was they would serve a purpose..This is a beginning of reversion to earth worship. However at this moment it does appear relatively so-so benign still , and therefore of the crucial issues this is arguably the less problematic and the one we could allow some leeway for now..stay tuned

    3. This 'earth worship' is in your own minds and the minds of those who have been bought or influenced by those rich people who profit off climate change. Anyone else who cares about it is quite clear that it is about the human cost. Even now, people are suffering terribly due to climate change, and the side effects will cost all of us a great sum. With a relatively cheap outlay we could have done something starting twenty years ago, but we allowed ourselves to be fed nonsense like 'earth worship'.
By now, the fix is already much more expensive, but still cheaper than doing nothing.

    4. Naive. However you may wish it away and though we both can't stand the wanton destruction of real estate developers and corporate greed the pernicious background of those opposing musn't be ignored even if we somehow were to work in tandem
