  3. That sign tells me that Reb Shmuel Kamenetzky holds that the sheitlach are muttar, like the Mishna Berura

    1. How so? Or is this you being a leitz

      Delete
    2. Because if he thought it was assur, he would write the word assur.
But we all know that the Mishna Berura holds it is muttar, as do almost all other Poskim. All those who say there is no problem of מראית עין don't try to claim that sheitlach look different to hair. Because they don't have to look different to hair, there is no such halacha.

      Delete
    3. So since he doesn't hold it's assur, why's he bothering to write anything at all? If he holds it's muttar and that's all there is to it, he should just say so? What's his point?
Could it be that he holds that it's wrong even though it's not assur?
      Possibly?
Something like the Ramban writes about a נבל ברשות התורה?
Come to think of it, that actually makes sense.

      Delete
    4. Actually, נבל ברשות התורה has nothing to do with this. It has to do with people being בעלי תאווה, each according to his level. Not covering the hair in a permissible manner.
If it's muttar, it's muttar. Nobody can attack someone for doing something muttar, or look down at them. Sadly, people use letters like those of Reb Shmuel to denigrate others who follow virtually all Poskim of the generations, including the פרי מגדים and many others

    5. What's sad is that people like yourself sit back and insist that when Gedolim of the caliber of Rav Shmuel, Rav Feldman, Rav Brudny, and countless others alert us to a dangerous trend, they're all unworthy of being paid attention to.
It's sad that unsuspecting women are being encouraged to dress in a manner that is acknowledged by all to be immodest.
The Gemara decries certain forms of dress that were immodest although technically they would not have been assur. You can pretend that all is well so long as it's not technically assur, but we're not fooled. Assur or muttar is not the issue. Going against the divrei chachomim and dressing immodestly is the issue and it's wrong.

  4. He doesn’t say assur but anyone with half brain chops he doesn’t like it. Unfortunately some don’t have a half brain.

Doesnt sound like you have any brains. Its either MUTTAR or ASSUR. Dont drey us a kup with "he doesn't like it". Im not interested in what Reb Shmuel (or any Rav for that matter) likes or doesnt like. Say a clear psak - Muttar, Assur, or baal nefesh yachmir

      Delete
    2. His liking and not liking are highly unimportant. The Halacha is what we care about, and Reb SHmuel Kamenetzky holds like the Mishna Berura, that it is muttar

      Delete
    3. It's rather obvious that he holds that while technically it may be muttar, but that he strongly advises against wearing it and that's why he worded it that way.
For me, that's plenty sufficient. There are plenty of things that are technically muttar that I don't do and this is one more.
If you wish to disregard his sentiments and those of plenty of other Gedolei Torah, many of whom believe that it's technically assur as well, that's your prerogative, of course, but please don't try to dismiss his point which is clear.

  5. Do the wg shuls have enough room for yt? If not what’s the plan? From what I’ve heard there bh is enough room just want to make sure.

    1. You’re so sick it’s unreal. Two weeks before Rosh Hashana you’ve got nothing better to do than incite people and stir up trouble????

  6. Agudah NJ EAP covid releif- Something smelled fishy from beginning. First they were saying there was going to be a raffle. Then they said there was enough for everyone. Then they said they only had enough for most...
Most of the money went for "allocation and distribution", which means most of the went to some peoples pocket.
So If you wondering why you didn't hear anything from them about your application, and why there are still ads being paid for a program that ended months ago, with an address that's fake (that's NOT the Agudah address) keep sniffing and then let the public know everything.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Did anyone ask Avi Schnall about this?

      Delete
    2. Why is Agudah putting ads telling people to go to out an address on county line road, if they're office is on Cederbridge ??

      Delete
  7. They write in the ad that there will be an independent audit

  8. would KCL put out a a statement about the kashrus and oversight in stores that are under their control with non Jewish workers having access with no mashgichim this statement is a poor attempt at deflection, It makes nothing more kosher everyone knows that there are infestation issues. They are playing games

  9. As the committee of West Gate there’s currently no problems with seating everyone has been placed in a seat gas of 9/2/22

  10. what is being done about the garbage trucks in lakewood that come early shabbos morning waking up the entire neighborhood. How is this right to rob people of their sleep and wake up little children specifically on shabbos when everyone is home.

  11. What’s wrong with asking about seating in wg two weeks before rh? It’s an innocent question, why is that inciting anyone? It’s a time that shuls need more seats I just wanted to make sure it’s all good and there are no problems.

  13. Thank you to Phil Murphy and all who supported him for raising the natural gas to $300 a year way to go

    1. You can thank Joe Biden who promised to increase LNG exports to Europe.

NJNG buys gas on the open market. While the U.S. has a massive domestic supply, a lot of that supply will be shipped out to Europe this winter, causing a massive increase in the cost of gas.

Not a fan of Murphy, but in this case the price hike was justified, otherwise NJNG would be selling gas at a loss.

  14. "Shiur by Rabbi Yehuda Shain to Youngeleit in BMG ..."

Barely a minyan in a side empty room. The smallest chabura has more attendees.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Not that it matters, but there were actually around 35 people there. It was a private shiur given for the Shivti Chabura in BMG who are currently learning Ma’achalos Asuros and brought Rabbi Shain in to discuss the Manalapan Chinese Kashrus scandal NOT for the public and 28 members of the Chabura were in attendance.

Additionally, around 7-8 outsiders (mostly other BMG Yungeleit) came to hear R’ Shain speak.

Nobody claimed it was a public shiur given in the dining room for the whole Yeshiva and greater Lakewood.

      Delete
    2. He did not discuss manalapan, just how he busted the place in monsey and a place in boro park, both butchers not restauranta, and thats very different. Didn't have any new information about manalapan or about establishments in Lakewood. It was coffee room talk, pure bitul Torah.

  15. Shkoyach why would anyone go to his shiur? Everything is treif according to him..
