  1. I know the chairman of the Aguda Mr. Werdiger hosted Desantis so that is a good sign to the klal because that indicates that Daas Torah of the moetzes supports desantis because i remember when I was in yeshiva Rabbi Sherer said he doesnt do anything without 1st consulting the rabbanim.

    1. Host / = support
      Werdiger /= Sherer

    2. Waste of money. The Agudah already gets hundreds of thousand of dollars from the government. Where did it all go?

  2. LSTA was created to help Lakewood bussing. instead it has created a system of havoc with ZERO accountability. The bus companies have no fear of the LSTA, and the LSTA has no fear of the schools. We are all puppets in this crazy world.

We can all scream how bad it was when the BOE was in charge of bussing but it was a million times better.

Bus drivers, drive recklessly throughout Lakewood, with no means of anyone to report a bus driver, and honestly neither the bus drivers nor the bus companies care.

Buses don't show up, with no way of knowing if they will come or not. No communication, yet the LSTA knows very well how to bill the parents.

    1. When the BOE ran bussing, Lakewood's population was a fraction of what it is now.

  3. Class action lawsuit against the BOE and LSTA is the only way to go. A few good parents should get together and file the suit. It's a chutzpah to be treated this way the school owners who are on the LSTA consortium should be called out for keeping silent while lakewood taxpayers and children get treated like garbage and taken advantage of by bullies.
And Agudah NJ should also speak up who are they protecting

  4. "As Lakewood residents sit in traffic averaging 45 minutes to get to locations" Just curious, how was this study done?

Get in your car and drive across town in the morning and afternoon

    3. I drive daily across town and I am as frustrated as everyone else. I am just commenting that throwing out a number out with no delimitations or frame of reference is silly.

    4. Took me an hour today to get around in what should have been 12 -15 minutes
      Lakewood is a parking lot

  5. We should stop using the euphemism LSTA. Write clearly the names of the people who have the job of ensuring smooth bussing, with their business contact info. Stop the hiding behind acronyms.

  6. Hello LSTA haters - just maybe your child’s bus is stuck in the same hour traffic as you?? Can you explain logically why you think the boe would be any better? All LSTA is doing is pooling funds for more children to get busing - do your research before you just whine like a 2 year old!

    1. It's not about stuck in traffic. It's about drivers not knowing where to drop children off, skipping stops, and mistreating children. It's about routes not getting picked up, no way of contacting the bus company, no way of knowing where a bus is, and dangerous bus drivers getting away with it.

All of that was supposed to be the job of the LSTA, yet they have no accountability. Every year the same mistakes are made, and there is nobody to learn from them, because nobody cares at all. Unelected people, paid by people who don't care.

That is why it should be abolished.

    2. Right, so if the LSTA gets abolished you won’t have any of your problems? Who exactly is going to help you “? Michael I? Laura? They will do exactly what the LSTA is doing. You are failing to realize what the LSTA does - they bid out the routes - that’s it - They cannot control the bus companies/ drivers etc. STA used to service Lakewood they ran away - Unfortunately, they can’t threaten a company because there is no replacement! And if they get a replacement guess what happens- the drivers just switch companies! The fact is you will get the same results whether you have the LSTA in charge or BOE - the difference - with the LSTA we can now have non mandatory busing!

      Delete
    3. Lsta officials are making 400kbin salaries not to just bid out routes but to make sure the busing runs smoothly and on time if they can't do the basics and respond to legitimate complaints they should close down and let others run it

They only answer to a few big schools everyone else is thrown under the bus

      Delete
    4. If Michael and Laura do it, we will save the money wasted on the LSTA.

Additionally, there is a reason that there is a push to get rid of Michael. Because people aren't happy with the job he is doing. Eventually, accountability works. Not everyone is upset, and that is why there are votes. But if Michael and Laura were responsible for the busses fiasco, everyone would want them out. They would know that and make sure to fix up their acts.

And I send to a big school, it isn't that much better.

    5. If the BOE runs it well guess what - there is no busing for non mandated kids! BOE will hire some more employees- don’t assume there would be much savings…Don’t forget what kind of benefits government workers receive..
The BOE is not going to change anything you are delusional to think BOE are elected so they will be more helpful - don’t know anyone elected in this town that feels any need to answer up to the common folk! Not that there is anything that can be done - bigger schools will always get their routes picked up because they are more cost efficient, buses will come late because of the traffic, stops will be skipped, drivers will drive recklessly- because there is a shortage of drivers.

  8. Comolaining about school yraffic is essentially complaining that the community has large families and many children . In a regukar town with the same amount of families ,there wouldn't be half the traffic . With 7 kids per family , of course there will be bad traffic .Be happy that klal yisroel is growing

    1. BH Klal yisroel is growing BUT the township committe and planning board need to plan for the future and not just take special interest into consideration. I remember 25 years ago when chambersbridge and New hampshire had woods on the side yet the committee and planning board made the road two lanes in each direction. Why? for future development and planning. Now there is just approval for more housing with lack of planniing. There is a video of a chasidish fellow showing the total lack of safety as a result of the planning. He says this election day do NOT vote for any incumbent. They have failed us.

  9. Actually, a very large portion of the traffic is parents commuting to their jobs. There should be a campaign for offices to have their employees work part remotely which will reduce cars on the road by half.

  10. Most of the traffic is Bmg going and coming to Seder and kids and teachers going to school. At 11 am i can zip through the whole town in less than 10 minutes. At 145 to 2 its gridlock because of Bain Hasedorim in BMG . Thats the price you have to pay for living in a town with the biggest mokom torah and 55,000 school students and 15,000 playgroup kids . The regular families are not the cause of the gridlock.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Many years ago you would have been right that the traffic is from BMG. Those days are long gone and now there is traffic at all hours of the day. Anyway if BMG is causing the traffic let them fix it or move somewhere else.
