Rav Dov Kreiswirth Zt"l

 Levaya in Lakewood Motzei Shabbos at BMG  Yoshon Bais Medrash 7th street 11:00 PM Kevura in Eretz Yisrael

Matzav- with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the passing of Rav Dov Tzvi Kreiswirth zt”l, rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Toras Chaim in the Romema neighborhood of Yerushalayim. Rav Kreiswirth was also the rov of the Derech Chaim and Meir kehillos in Har Nof, Yerushalayim.

Rav Kreiswirth was a talmid of Rav Moshe Shmuel Shapiro zt”l, rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Beer Yaakov, Rav Shmuel Rozovsky zt”l, rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Ponovezh, and Rav Berel Solevetchik zt”l, rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Brisk.

Rav Kreiswirth provided his talmidim a connection with the Torah and midos of these great Torah leaders of the previous generation and exemplified the mesorah that he received from his father, the great gaon, Rav Chaim Kreiswirth zt”l, longtime rov of Congregation Machzikei Hadass Antwerp, Belgium, and founding rosh yeshiva of Yeshiva Mercaz HaTorah in Yerushalayim.

Rav Kreiswirth’s mother, Rebbetzin Sarah Kreiswirth a”h, w ho lived in Rav Kreiswirth’s home in Brook Hill Estates in Lakewood until her petirah was a daughter of the renowned mashgiach of Slabodka, Rav Avrohom Grodzensky zt”l.

Rav Kreiswirth’s wife, Rebbetzin Leah Kreiswirth, was a daughter of the Pittsburgher Rebbe, Rav Avrohom Abba Leifer zt”l. The rebbetzin was a noted mechaneches, teaching at Bais Kaila High School in Lakewood.

The Kreiswirth home was open to one and all, as Rav and Rebbetzin Kreiswirth welcomed every visitor and guest with their characteristic charm and positivity.

The rosh yeshiva was renowned for his warm personality and for his chesed to others. In addition to his harbotzas haTorah, Rav Kreiswirth was involved in numerous chesed endeavors.

The levaya will take place in Lakewood on Motzoei Shabbos.
